Demographics of Santa Clara County
[Read the article: Despite Web success, Obama loses Silicon Valley]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The premise of your article is flawed. Santa Clara County is 25.7% Hispanic and 30.5 % Asian. Both demographics voted overwhelmingly for Clinton. The number of people who actually work at Silicon Valley companies do not a majority make.

reactions in letters
[Read the article: Despite Web success, Obama loses Silicon Valley]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I must say that the Clinton supporter's reactions in these letters are kind of frightening. Why are they so angry? Support your candidate, fine, but why tear don't another democrat who is bringing more people into the process. It's kind of self-destructive. Sen. Clinton is not owed the presidency.

An Obvious Bias
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's Texas-size moment ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Sen. Clinton's powerful closing words were a magic bullet, her silly Zerox zinger, which you call a "potent putdown," was a shot in the foot. How could you objectively categorize it as a positive? Did you hear the booing which followed the petty, scripted remark? Me thinks there is a bit of bias going on here.

Tone and level of discussion
[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's Texas-size moment ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I must say reading many of the posts regarding this article reinforces my belief that Obama is dead on in his quest to change the tone of our political debate. From many passionate posters there is a vituperativeness that is disheartening, especially since we're theoretically all on the same side. I think this is partially due to the anonymous nature of the internet where people fell no accountability for whatever venom comes out of their keyboard. Also, it seems that many people have internalized a kind of Rovean way of attacking people they disagree with--facts don't matter and are manipulated and "enemies" are given no quarter. Either you're with us or against us. If you're an opponent, you're either stupid or evil. I am a proud Obama supporter and I don't know if he'll be able to change the tone of our politics but I thank him for bringing the issue to the foreground and trying. He rightly argues that it is possible to make a strong principled stand without denigrating your opponents.
