I am sorry for ranting but I really cannot stand Republicans.
Your rant about your hatred of the Republican party and your ties to Clinton ignores one serious and valuable point: do Obama's policies and voting history support your values or not? Since he has the endorsement of NARAL and a 100% rating from pro choice organizations and supports civil unions (ok, not marriage yet, which won't pass yet nationally, but getting there) what is it that you don't like about his policies and vision? Wouldn't it be liberating to simply get over your hurt feelings, disappointment and hatefulness and vote your conscience on the issues?
I do not feel that voting for Obama is voting my conscience. I know that the overwhelming majority of the Obama supporters on this site have denounced me for the way I feel about Obama and how I feel he has manipulated the struggle of black Americans and their struggle in this country to suit his needs and then alternately tries to revert back to "Barry" and acts like his just a white guy who happens to have a black father. Since there is no way any of us are going to agree on this, I hope you guys can try to appreciate that my feelings are my own and that as a black woman whose family were slaves here, I cannot move past what I see as his milking the black blood that has been spilled on this soil. I am not interested in beefing over this, just accept that it is my point of view and that is why I do not feel voting for Obama is voting my conscience.
Breath deeply, let the anger go, get some focus, and vote on what matters.
This sort of patronizing, condescending talk is what drives Clinton supporters away from your candidate. It is hard to be a unified party when one part of the party looks down on and ridicules another. Do you think that it is helpful? I don't think so and it just makes me think I have no place in your Democratic party. You think I am just an angry little whiner. Why should I give money and time to people who think I am just an ATM worthy of ridicule?
Remember, somebody had to lose. Is there some reason that the world will end if its Hillary Clinton when her opponent, whom she has said she is honored to share a stage with, shares so many of her stances on the issues?
I understand that somebody had to lose. It is a contest and there can only be one winner. If she is honored to share a stage with Obama, good for her. I do not take orders from her. Just because she likes someone does not mean I do. I am not in a cult run by Hillary Clinton. I will not support him even if she asks me or supporters ask me too. If other Clinton supporters want to vote for him, that is their right. I just won't.
