Look, the basis of this whole thing is:
[Read the article: Can Barack Obama win West Virginia?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary supporters want us to only count the states where Hillary won, and none of the states where Obama won.
Even though Obama won in 27 states. That is more than half the states in the USA, that Hillary supporters feel comfortable saying don't count.
Now to do this they whine about caucuses being undemocratic, because it is easier for them to whine about caucuses than to get off their lazy asses and, you know, caucus.
They like proclaiming the black vote is voting for Obama purely because he is black - and refuse to acknowledge anything Hillary might have done to lose the black vote.
They like calling Obama's supporters stupid, and whenever anybody points out that Obama's earliest support base was the educated, elitists.
They like talking about how Obama is weaker on policy yet they almost never bring up specific policies. And when they do bring up specific policies, those policies get torn to shreds.
They proclaim that they will vote McCain in November, when about the only thing McCain has in common with Hillary is that he is white. They then wonder how they could possibly be seen as racist.
Any and all criticism of Hillary is instantly sexist - see Joan Walsh on Ted Kennedy's recent statement on whether Hillary should be Obama's VP. Some might disagree with what he said (And some doesn't include me) but that was not a sexist statement.
And any and every time an Obama supporter refutes something that is clearly racist or just plain stupid? We get accused of playing the race card, or again, being elitists.
The thing is that the Hillary supporters on this site do not want the Democrats to win in November. There is no intention of the Democrats winning, because that would cut into their whining.
This article focussed on a very ugly part of Hillary's support, that support that really is racist, that really won't vote for a black man because of the colour of his skin, the same centre of support that the Democrats have been trying to purge from their ranks since LBJ decided black people have rights too.
And this is the core level of support that we are told we can't win. Those of us who supported Edwards look at this, remember when he said that if you were voting against Hillary for her gender or Obama for his race - you shouldn't vote for him and we wonder just where Hillary's principles have gone.
It is that level of vote that we don't want to win.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]James Levy, is a sincere, real Hillary supporter. He is worthy of respect and can probably make real arguments on the subject at hand. He is the precise sort of Hillary supporter who makes up the 80% of Hillary's following that isn't racist or some form of bot.
Any campaign should be proud to have him on its team, and any politician should be proud to have his vote. The man is a Democrat who thinks and reasons his decisions.
With ProudTexas. Who pretty much describes herself absolutely accurately with her posts on Obama and his supporters.

On trying the "I will vote McCain tactic"
[Read the article: Poetry vs. fear]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you are going to vote against Obama, and the alternative is McCain, why not go with Nader? You will probably lose, Nader doesn't stand a hope in hell, but at least you won't be voting against your principles.
Because the thing with McCain is that he is preaching the exact opposite line on a lot of things which Hillary says she is in favour of. He may be an experienced candidate, but that is hardly a guarantee of competence and frankly, the degree of incompetence the Republicans have demonstrated over the last eight years kind of puts the experience argument to bed.
And why knows, maybe you might just manage to fix the major source of America's political weakness - that it is a two party state. If you are going to launch a protest vote, at least protest in favour of your basic ideals instead of against them.
(Note: I and a lot of other Democrats still won't agree with you, but at least you won't be voting for the Republicans.)

Okay
[Read the article: She's still in it to win it]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary made the better appeal in West Virginia - race was only one factor in Obama's loss. Obama needs to learn from it and hone his campaign in the general in order to improve his appeal.
That said, I still support Obama in the primary, as I am an elitist and thus would like to see more elites. I do not see any reason why West Virginians shouldn't have schools that are as good as everyone else's, or why they shouldn't get good coffee.
And of course access to information should be a right, the ability to sift through such information for what is valuable should be instinctual, and the application of that information to inform your vote should be obvious.
From a chicken in every pot to a computer in every home, we were always for improving the way of life that every American enjoys, so why not continue with that message now?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]All skills have to be taught.
You have to learn how to talk, yet we instintively speak and understand our given languages.
And likewise all skills can, if taught well and learned better, become instinctual. Critical thinking needs to be in that column in future generations of voters, because right now you have a situation where the Republicans managed to get away with 8 years to riding the country down a hole because nobody thought to question the evidence.
