When the politics are over whether your marriage is recognised as such under the law, when the politics are about whether you are demonised by the party they are voting for, when the politics they are engaging in are about your destruction, there is nothing more vital. If they changed their vote, on the basis of the money, you would still feel the same resentment.

Cut them off. If they need help they can ask the others.
