Bullshit. Marriage is essentially a legal contract, with tax benefits attached to it.
I am a straight atheist, if marriage was a religious issue then I wouldn't have the right to get married either.
Watch the Republicans whine about how nasty and unfair and horrible the left is for bringing up issues with Palin's environmental policies.
Meanwhile the rest of us noticed eight straight years of Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly.
Seriously if you whiny little fuckers seriously don't evoke the sympathetic response you think you deserve.
When the politics are over whether your marriage is recognised as such under the law, when the politics are about whether you are demonised by the party they are voting for, when the politics they are engaging in are about your destruction, there is nothing more vital. It is not a petty reason for resentment.
But it is also not the real reason. The real reason you want to cut them off is that you are feeling used, and dismissed for it. Your siblings aren't helping. Chances are those siblings feel superior to the "faggot" of the family who is.
Your parents' votes wouldn't matter if you felt anything but alone in supporting them, and it is not like you are the self-righteous son. You are curtailing your life in order to help them and you would like at least some sort of gesture from them that doesn't come off as just another move to protect their money supply.
This vote symbolises that gesture, and by voting Republican they are telling you that you can support them all you like, you can do everything in your power to help them, but in the end, you are not going to get any sincere thanks for it. If they changed their vote, on the basis of the money, you would still feel the same resentment.
Cut them off. If they need help they can ask the others.
If you are an employee, your bitterness explains why you failed to get that promotion you wanted a lot better than your penis does.
If you are a boss, you mysogeny has a lot more to do with the women in your office undermining you than their ability.
You are blaming women for your flaws and failures. Women are not weak, nor seeking an unfair advantage, you are.
Feminism ceased to be about issues when the fight between Obama and Hillary became about which of them was female.
Palin is Hillary's logical heir, in all of her anti-feminist glory, the woman who is anti-women's rights, the woman who stands against everything Hillary stood for, the woman who many "feminist" supporters will cheer on because they don't give a shit about issues, but they do care about how having a woman so near to ultimate power will look.
What women in America face now is a fight for the soul of the feminist movement, a fight to see whether they stand on their principles, or whether those principles are just lip-service they are willing to ignore in the name of a pyric and largely meaningless symbolic victory.
Congratulate your pictures editor. It is a seriously effective picture, that gets right down to the heart of the article. For those who see the picture and are disgusted and upset - that is kind of the point.
Judging by how Palin basically views any and all forms of hunting as being okay, isn't it perfectly likely that she may well have engaged in caged lion hunting?
On day one of her being the Vice President, how can the Republicans claim that she would be able to face hostile foreign powers on day one of her being president, should McCain die?
All keeping her away from the media shows, is that she isn't fit for office should something happen to McCain, and with McCain's past health, well do you want to take the risk?
McCain, the small government conservative, big on experience, picked an inexperienced woman from a state noted for government pork as his Vice President?
Eiiish.
Considering that Biden's chief gaff in the primaries was racial in nature, this also takes the "racist-card" out of the Republicans' deck.
Why?
Biden's weaknesses are Obama's strengths and vice versa. Further, Biden was a firm critic of Obama's, which is to say that Obama's cabinet is now seen as being made up of people who are willing to say "no" to the next president.
