Your are, no doubt, outraged that Rush was denied his bid for team ownership in the NFL.
You, no doubt, cannot see the outrage from many NFL players, owners, managers, and others fearing the distraction of having an openly divisive liar in the NFL.
And you, no doubt, cannot see just how small and petty is Rush's outrage at being refused.
And you, no doubt, cannot see the right's reaction to Rush's rejection as proof that the NFL's worst fears were justified.
The lesson we should have learned from the attacks on 9/11 had little to do with national security. It had everything to do with how the Muslim world sees us as an aggressive, hypocritical, racist society brutally protecting our economic interests in the Arab world.
If that isn't motivation enough for the 9/11 attacks I don't know what is.
Regardless of the successful outcomes of home schooled children, their non-participation in public education is sowing the seeds for a divided education system with one side favoring the privileged and the other side suffering the consequences of shrinking participation.
Public education is a part of the foundation of this country. When people opt out of the education system the system is threatened. Is it not possible to fix public education in order to address the concerns of folks fearing that their children are not getting a good education?
Of course, the folks that want their kids to be indoctrinated with religion every day, all of the time, will never be happy with public schools but they are, thankfully, a minority.
covering up the rot in many public shool systems.
Our first priority should be to fix Constitutionally mandated public education but that requires the support of parents, but many prefer to hold down multiple jobs in order to pay for huge homes, overdone SUVs, 65 inch home theater systems, super delux kitchens, and 12 burner backyard barbeque centers featuring enough custom brickwork to rebuid the Collisium.
As a nation, our priorities are totally screwed up.
discussing the massive failure of the (Bush) EPA to properly oversee and regulate water pollution.
We're poisoning our water and our ground and causing sickness and death.
Let's fix problems at home before we march off to tell other countries how to live.
Another reader posted this paragraph:
"That's what happens when only about half of the forces, and only a small fraction of support forces, are actually under the command of the US government. The rest, over half of the personnel, are contractors."
And the capitalists' dream of profitable warfare is being realized.
And yet another reason to attack us and our interests.
Bush was incapable of understanding the obvious.
The lesson we should have learned from the WTC/Pentagon attacks on 9/11 had little to do with national security. It had everything to do with how the Muslim world sees us as an aggressive, hypocritical, racist society brutally protecting our economic interests in the Arab world.
If that isn't motivation enough for the 9/11 attacks I don't know what is.
A stroll around any department store should tell us something.
Nothing is made here save the paint on the walls.
I don't think we have to go that far.
Just practising what we preach ought to do it.
My recently purchased assemble-it-yourself table was simplicity itself however some of the metric hardware was missing.
Rather than a 25 mile round-trip back to the store I dug around in my Metric Parts Bin and found what I needed to complete the assembly.
A pair of shorts was also purchased and the waistband buttonhole was too small for the size of the button provided.
Lesson learned: NEVER enlarge a buttonhole. ALWAYS replace the button.
In order to better appreciate Ikea, visit a Wal Mart.
This is the first year in which the plant has bloomed, so I bought stock.
Worked out pretty well so I guess I'll stick with it.
I'm offended by your post. My Wal Mart table was missing parts. How does that make me an idiot?
Oh, wait. Going there in the first place?
Paying attention to Beck is only feeding his bank account.
Let's move on.
and everything they stand for, and this is reinforced every time Cheney or Limbaugh or Beck or any of a number of right-wing loonies opens their mouths.
The GOP lost its moral compass when it sold out to their media blowhards whose only purpose is to build up their personal fortunes at the expense of accurate journalism, truth, and the overall good of the country.
When a Party's leadership is nothing more than a collection of liars and amoral opportunists it is time to flush that Party down the toilet.
The surge in Iraq was not Bush's choice when Rumsfeld was in office. Rumsfeld opposed sending more troops and he opposed any change in war strategy.
Only after the Republicans lost both Houses did Bush renege on his promise that "Rumsfeld stays" and replaced him only because he could see the magnitutude of his errors and the subsequent losses in Congress.
And, by the way, more Americans die from lack of health care than die in Afghanistan, a hell of a lot more.
Please get your priorities straight.
What a day that will be! His epitath should read: "He Did So Much To Hurt So Many".
From the Taliban? No. From the American right wing.
And we can put some responsibility on the backs of the right wing hate machine - Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Buchanan for feeding the ignorant dittoheads with enough fertilizer to drive the political discourse into the sewer.
Stick around and wait. We're in self-destruct mode and eventually you'll be able to buy, say, the entire State of California for around $500.
Cheney ought to spend more of his time apologizing for the thousands killed in Iraq.
Then he should sit in a bathtub and do the right thing.
