Judging by all that has happened since 9/11, the hijackers have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

Not only have we saddled ourselves with the worst Administration ever, we have engaged in continuous debate, lies, corrupted intelligence reports, attacks on our Constitution, and an unecessary war.

It is evident that the Bush Administration has played into the hands of the terrorists.

This Election will be worthy of a Survivors series on TV.

The GOP slate is so weak that they will have to resort to the usual dirty tricks and lies trying to win.

Unless they can get Mama McCain to run, of course.

The current credit disaster can be traced directly to the Republican Administration (see Slate.com) and the Dems are virtually silent about it. Why?

The Democratic Congress has caved in to the Republicans on almost every issue. Why?

The just-passed stimulus package rejects an extension of unemployment benefits. Why? Wouldn't that put money into the economy the same as a giveback?

Read this and ask why no discussion of the subprime scandal is taking place among the candidates, or Congress.

ANYTHING proposed or supported by Dick Cheney is 99% certain to benefit big business or big government.

Imagine a candidate stating that he,she has "No religious affiliation".

Election chance: Zero.

We could do worse, as with any of the Republican candidates, but is it really democratic to have two families dominate the US Presidency over so many years?

The GOP hatred of Hillary fits in with their fear of progress but that is not reason enough to reject her out of hand. I fear a presidential campaign that brings out the worst of the Republican attack machine. The best defense a Democrat can have is a good offense and past campaigns have shown the Democrats fearful (or incapable) of effectively responding to the Republican campaigns' lies.

If the Democrats can effectively defeat the GOP's Hate Hillary Campaign Hillary will probably be elected. But the two-family White House issue doesn't go away.

I like Obama. He's strong and articulate and I think he would be the most effective as a "healer" to try to undo the mess that Bush has created.

Congress should create a new Office of the Advisor General. This new entity would issue opinions and make suggestions in the areas of defense, offense (as in Iraq), and veterans affairs.

John McCain is a natural for this post.

Please replace useless reporting like "Who Owns The Moon" with something of substance, like the missing WH emails.

Someone in this miserable Administration must be held to account for this but I fear that will not happen. If the press does not properly inform the public about possible illegal activity in the WH nobody will.

The best outcome of the Election will be the further erosion of Republican influence via a Democratic Administration and Congress.

Huckabee will assist with this to a great extent. To this end, the Dems must effectively inform voters of the dangers to our freedom and sanity presented by all of the Republican contenders.

I will grant Fred Thompson one thing, however, as he advocates health care availability for everyone. He is the only Republican stating this.

Everything else, not OK.

The Bush Administration personifies the Republican mindset concerning science and the protection of species and the environment.

Republicans tolerate conservation until it encroaches on business. Then, it's "All hands to the boats" and the future be damned.

Let's hope that upcoming Administrations undo the vast damage that has been done by the Bush Administration.

I have such a strong bias against Republicans that I cannot bring myself to look at any of them with any interest at all.

Bush and the Bible thumpers have turned the Republican Party into this diseased, corrupt organization of liars and incompetents.

The 2008 presidential election will bring out the usual GOP dirty tricks and hit pieces on Democrats.

As a Democrat, I hope the Democtratic campaign fights back instead of the usual wishy washy responses to organized GOP lies and misinformation.

I stopped watching commercial TV and I do not miss it at all.

Public television and commercial-free movies, OK. But I refuse to be insulted by the current crop of TV shows and their commercials.

A good book beats TV, hands down.

Nutritional science should be taught in the early grades in school (if it isn't already). This won't guarantee healthy eating among young folks but it will, at the very least, plant a seed that could make a difference in later years.

I remember when white bread was preferred by kids over wheat bread. Wonder Bread still uses a colorful kid-friendly wrapper. The marketing geniuses were very effective in selling white bread to kids and parents alike.

An equally strong effort to promote healthy bread was lacking, to be sure.

Sugar-laden drinks and snacks are consumed at such rates that 40 foot tractor trailer rigs are needed to transport them to grocery stores. Potato chips (and related items), soft drinks occupy an entire aisle at the supermarket.

Instead of sending strong, factual messages to advise the public, the FDA is in the pockets of food processors and sellers. Small-government myopia has resulted in under-funding of research and oversight of the things we eat and drink. Instead of leading the charge for better nutrition, the FDA seems content to wait for the next fad before reacting. The now popular effort to eliminate trans-fats comes to mind.

Our government seems powerless to do what they are elected and paid to do. Healthcare and nutrition are closely related but neither seems to have sparked much effective activity in Congress.
