We are occupiers and destroyers in a foreign country, put there because of faulty intel (or outright lies), ruining their culture, business, and industry (except oil, of course) and causing the unecessary deaths of THOUSANDS of Iraqi citizens. They want us OUT.
WE CANNOT WIN THIS BATTLE. Too much Bushco mismanagement has resulted in our losing credibility as effective nation-builders.
Let's use the money we are wasting in Iraq at home.
The Democrats need to hammer the Republicans with the facts about the war and to let the voters see a consistent, solid, fact-based message about the lies and mismanagement regarding a useless war.
That seems to be the Bush legacy.
Why did I have the feeling that the "surge" was just another marketing ploy by an Administration that has lied its way into infamy.
John McCain reinforces my mistrust of Republicans. That Party demands lock-step conformance to its dogma regardless of a candidate's actual beliefs or desires.
Such a demand reduces John McCain to nothing more than another puppet to be run by Republican hard-liners.
Go for a walk in a forest.
I don't care what women (or men) wear just as long as what they are wearing is more-or-less appropriate for the occasion.
What I don't like is the current crop of unisex-looking models and actresses that are in favor these days. Are pretty women now banned from leading roles in movies?
And don't get me started about female models. These pathetic creatures must be miserable, having to forego eating normal food in order to maintain the sickly toothpick look.
At least they didn't have to break in to get this file.
Remember the Watergate break-in?
If Iraq has settled down, with a functioning government and relatively terrorist-free, the proponents of this war will say, "See, it was worth it." but they will be missing the point entirely.
We didn't attack Iraq because we wanted to change its government (or so we were told). We attacked Iraq because we had to get rid of WMD.
There was no WMD but the idiot in the White House had to try to put a good face on it.
Republicans overwhelmingly support this war. I don't think they are capable of learning anything or changing their thinking.
Libby took the fall for Cheney and a weak Congress would not move forward to impeach the VP.
"Iraq has weapons of mass destruction", a statement of apparent fact that drove us to attack Iraq, was a lie. Cheney stated that directly, without uncertainty.
At that time, it was the opinion of the UN Inspection Teams in Iraq that Saddam no longer possessed such weapons.
"So I respectfully disagree with the remarks of the Senator from West Virginia. I believe the President of the United States has done everything necessary and has exercised every option short of war, which has led us to the point we are today.
I believe that, obviously, we will remove a threat to America's national security because we will find there are still massive amounts of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq ." McCain.
All lies or dilusions, and this is the GOP nominee for president?
If GOP "experience" is what we have seen since Bush was appointed president then we don't have to worry about Obama, or Bugs Bunny, for that matter.
That damn fool in the White House and his cadre of mentally defective advisors together could not rely upon their "experience" to keep us out of an unecessary war.
Let's elect leaders willing to actually work with the rest of the world to solve the problems in the Middle East rather than engage in useless, defamatory sound-bites.
Republicans, apparently, abhor teaming up with anything that is not a quick and simple solution to a problem.
Witness The Idiot invading Iraq while intelligence reports indicated, at the very least, that the justification for invasion was very thin.
I fear McCain is More of the Same.
Another mispeaking president? Haven't we seen this act before?
The stupid public will not understand one thing about this report.
It'd be better in cartoon form.
Once upon a time, Dick Cheney was convinced that Iraq had WMD and he stated that numerous times immediately before we invaded that country.
Apparently, he had information to the contrary (as did everyone else) but that did not deter him. Then he went on to say that the abandoned trailers found in Iraq were "mobile weapons labs" while ignoring the fact that the trailers were not used for that purpose according to every US intelligence source. Additionally, photos of the trailers revealed them to be made with canvas sides rendering them useless for the super-clean environment for biological research.
Cheney has the ability to lie while appearing to be honest and forthright. He should be an actor.
Republicans: "Of course it matters. He's a Democrat."
Democrats: "It matters because Republicans are happy about it."
Reality-based individuals: "Stop wasting my time."
"In a free market, there's going to be good times and bad times," said Bush in a speech at the Economic Club of New York on Friday. "That's how markets work. There will be ups and downs."
If The Idiot honestly believes that we are a "free market" he is smoking Republican hash.
Someone should publish the Encyclopedia Of Failed Republican Economic Practices.
It should be required reading for anyone contemplating voting for John McCain.
The rebates that we will receive will not stimulate an economic recovery. Rather, they will be spent on everyday items like groceries and gasoline.
Treasury Secretary Paulson said, "Wait until the stimulous checks are mailed out" and we'll see an improvement in the economy.
The cost of staples and fuel has risen so fast, and at such a high percentage, that people will not be buying high-definition TVs, cars, or luxury items.
Our economy has been based upon a house of cards, and with no oversight by this miserable, lying, Republican Administration.
