Pope Quote

"nothing positive comes from Iraq, torn apart by continual slaughter as the civil population flees"

So Far, So Good

Obama's fixes for the Bush economy are showing positive results (look at the DJIA) so it's natural that the losers of the past two elections are unhappy.

Let's all remember this during the next several elections.

Original article: Healthcare tyranny

The Healthcare Issues Are Too Complicated

for the average American. When American TV shows are directed towards a 12 year-olds' mentality what can we expect?

The GOP loves to play games with the complex healthcare plan language, thus degrading the entire discourse into finger-pointing and outright lies.

The plan itself needs a much better presentation -one that explains itself in language and terms that a 12 year-old can understand.

@Steele The First

Perhaps you have not been aware of the existence of Fox News, the right's answer to the "liberal media", and the fact that it features the most extreme bias and outright misinformation in broadcast today.

The Vast Majority

of us regard the "birthers" as lunatics at worst, pranksters at best.

Let's move on ...

The Power Elite Fears An Educated Public

Our entire system of commerce is designed around a model which creates a desire to buy something and then to provide the product or service at a profit.

At first glance this seems harmless enough but in order for this system to work people must be easily convinced to let go of their dollars. An uneducated (or undereducated) public makes this easier.

Our mainstream news is an example. Instead of presenting events as factually as possible news companies attract attention by using personalities and bias to attract an audience. The facts of the story are sometimes lost in the showmanship and the bias of the presentation or the personality of the news presenter or commentator.

This is a direct result of the corporate ownership of broadcast news. A gullible population that salivates over controversy and heavily biased personalities serves as its mainstream audience to the detriment of intelligent discourse and critical thinking.

A Boost For The Economy

One cannot argue the benefit derived by offering what amounts to a huge incentive to run out and buy that new car.

Reduced emissions are merely the icing on the cake.

Original article: Can Obama be deprogrammed?

America Is Owned By

the oil companies, the insurance industry, and Wall Street. We are programmed to believe that what is best for big business is best for America.

When we march into Iraq proclaiming that democracy is best for the Iraqis we conveniently forget that we no longer practice democracy here in our own country. So, we look stupid and hypocritical.

Obama cannot fix this mess. The voters cannot fix the mess. Congress is the whore of Big Money so don't look there for a solution.

We will continue to live with a broken system, applying Band Aids here and there but never fixing the roots of the problems.

Obama Is The Elected President.

It's a done deal. Live with it.

Do lunatics like Orly really believe that the Supreme Court will nullify the Election?

With people like this getting media attention it is no wonder that mental illness, drug use, and depression is epidemic in America.

This, Like The GOP, Will Pass

Fortunately for America, these tactics are so blatant that they are the seeds for their own destruction.

And, this will drive even more folks away from the GOP.

Sorry For The Repeated Posts

My post repeated itself for some strange reason. Sorry about that.

The Healthcare Debate

is showing just how morally bankrupt the Republicans are.

Instead of proposing sincere alternatives to pending legislation, they stoop to lies and scare tactics.

Doctors and Medicare

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and the doctors and the hospital that I use all accept Medicare and they are doing just fine.

This is a high-cost area. Homes and commuting are very expensive but I do not see doctors running away from Medicare patients.

A also use the USPS, DMV, the public library and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). All of these entities provide excellent service. I have few complaints about these services compared to many private businesses that I use.

The greed of for-profit business has contributed to the high cost of health care. A single-payer alternative will provide needed competition in the industry.

@terkoy

Your posts reveal an ignorance of facts and a necessity to parrot the right-wing media whores.

Keep it up. You are selling the image of the New GOP and letting people know why the Republicans are becoming a Permanent Minority Party.

Abortion is legal, and if it is necessary to preserve the health or the life of the mother it should be covered - just like any other medical procedure.

Here Is The Plan

Go here to read the health plan. Perhaps this will help to educate some on this subject.

The Embers Of A Dying Party

The GOP media blowhards are comic-book characters dressed up as commentators. They affect the opinions of very few outside their narrow and ignorant audiences. The past two major elections resulting in the loss of GOP Congressional seats and the election of Obama illustrate the effect these loonies have on thinking voters.

I personally am very excited about the future of the GOP if it continues to support Rush, Hannity, and the rest of their lying spinmeisters.

Friday, August 7, 2009 05:19 PM

Not To Worry

All of the GOP blowhards play to the same audience, a distinct minority consisting of undereducated haters, Bible-thumpers, and people seeking simple-minded answers to complex problems. I'd put Palin in the latter group.

They are increasingly distancing themselves from mainstream America and this will hurt them (again!) in the next Election.

Many Young People Today

have no idea as to what a "commie" or a "Nazi" is and the GOP hatemeisters are throwing these labels around like confetti. The vast majority of new voters are not impressed by these antics and they are being turned off by the rudderless Republicans.

However, considering the fragile mental state of the right wing rabble I would not be surprised if law enforcement is keeping a very close watch on these idiots.
