Original article: Bush's real lie about Iran

Let Israel Handle Iran

The Iranians are a bigger threat to Israel than to US. Israel has much better intel on Iran. Israel has the ability to perform surgical strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Anything Bush does seems to make matters worse.

The Christian Ethic

Conservative Christians support the Bush Administration and its war on Iraq.

As if this isn't bad enough, they seem to want to ignore any possibility of brutal misconduct by the Bush Administration towards POWS.

I often wonder how these lunatics reconcile the teachings of Christ with the conduct of this Administration.

Common Sense

Common Sense should tell us that polluting the air and water will have consequences.

Does any intelligent person honestly believe that dumping chemicals and combustion byproducts into the ecosystem and atmosphere will have NO EFFECT? Come on folks.

The increasing population pressure on Earth's resources will continue and a failure to plan for this now is a chance we cannot take.

The Republican Fear Machine

There simply MUST be something to fear or hate in the Republican Party platform.

Else, why would anyone vote for a Republican?

Religious Garbage

All of this attention being paid to the Republicans' religious lunacy makes me sick.

Are they not capable of rational thought?

The Dark Side

If one wants to see the dark side of American politics one need look no farther than the Republican Party.

Greed pays their bills. Ignorance feeds their message.

Another Ross Perot

Huckabee will go down in history as another sad distraction in American politics.

Rational people are in disbelief.

America's image is lessened.

Way to go, Huckster.

Meanwhile, At The SUV/Truck Dealers

People are buying bigger and bigger pickups and SUVs each year.

Does anyone sense a disconnect here? Trying to burn less fuel while automakers are producing larger trucks and more powerful auto engines that consume more fuel?

By what insane reason does anybody need an 8 MPG Hummer or a 12 MPG Dodge SUV V8?

60,000 Miles and Good Bye

As a former fleet manager, I leased and bought domestic cars for a large distributor.

American cars were preferred because they could be bought at the lower "fleet" price. The import dealers did not compete in this area.

We got rid of the cars at around 60,000 miles. This gave us the best trade in value as American cars tend to self-destruct as they approach 70 to 80,000 miles.

A typical Toyota Camry is still going strong at 150,000 miles with proper care.

A Recipe For Things To Come

When our world influence is determined by the use of excess military strength, torture, and hypocrisy, we are guaranteeing ourselves to be a target for future terrorist attacks.

We Are Hated And Feared

We are a hated as a nation because of our blatant hypocrisy.

And we are feared because we believe that we are destined to change the world according to our ideals.

Thank Bush for putting this into a very clear perspective, for all to see.

Thank Salon and the world press for publishing facts and accounts that provide what most of our domestic news agencies do not.

I fear that the USA is in a moral decline. We are a consumer society that believes all is well when our economy is strong, while our government is tearing down the foundation of our country.

Not Surprised

I would surmise that most hunters are Republicans and that cruelty to animals is something not well understood by these folks.

A Lesson For The Future

Almost on a daily basis we are reminded of the utter incompetence of Bush and the cabal of non-thinkers he picks as advisors.

America has squandered so much goodwill it is a wonder that the rest of the world listens to us at all.

We can start to fix this next election. The purging of Bush appointees from government agencies will be welcome indeed.

Another Example

This is another example of the Bush Administration's politicalization of science.

The silver lining here is that this EPA action will be yet another nail in the GOP's coffin next election.

Christian Hatred ?

The right-wing lunatics hate Hillary while promoting religion in politics.

If anyone sees a conflict here it is no surprise. The Hillary haters do not know her, and they have had no direct association with her or her congressional activities. Yet they claim that she not only is not to be elected, she is to be despised.

I'll bet these idiots would vote against a woman's right to vote, to hold a job, and to choose to practice birth control.

There is a really nasty element running loose in this country and voting the Republicans out of the White House and increasing the Democrats' majority in Congress is one way to keep these loonies in their cages.

A Question For A Conservative

In your letter you said,

"I’m an Evangelical; I believe life begins at conception. I admire George Bush and I love his compassionate approach to immigration. I supported the use of force against Iraq and believed American troops should stay and finish the job. I bashed Nancy Pelosi for meeting with Ahmed Bashir and argued for nuking Iran. My friends and I often made fun of liberals, calling them immoral people. I was homophobic, trusted only Fox News and treated myself to a bit of Imus, Limbaugh and Coulter. How could I possibly support Obama?"

Assuming that you think of yourself a Christian, how can you support a "preemptive" war based upon obviously suspicious evidence? Knowing the facts today, how can you continue to support a president that botches an unecessary war?

Lessons were learned in Vietnam, by everyone except Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, others, and you, apparently.

How many lost lives and injuries are OK? Ten, ten thousand? 50,000?, 150,000?
