Enough About Palin, Already

The woman is an idiot and too many Republicans think she is a godess.

Is anyone fearing for our country yet?

Sarah: War Is God's Plan

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending soldiers out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." --Sarah Pailn, on the Iraq war, speaking to students at the Wasilla Assembly of God, June 2008.

This woman is considered to be sane? She knows what God's "plan" is? Do we want this person anywhere near a position of national power?

There Is No Balance For Humans

Funny how some are able to overlook the obvious "imbalance" in human populations. Humans give themselves credit for being rational and benefitting from a social order, but this is not borne out as an absolute.

One can argue that human society is in disrepair and failing. This is seen in our culture, our science, and our moral behavior. We have moved from a familiy-oriented culture to a consumer-oriented culture, and that is taking a huge toll on families and the environment.

Our political culture is becoming more divided. Science is derided by religionists where no amount of education, common sense, or powers of observation seem to be in play.

In the ecosystem, the human population is a cancer, destroying as it grows. If humans are, indeed, intelligent then proof so far is lacking.

Sorry for the bleak outlook but there it is ....

@terkoy

The Fox audience is almost 100% Republican and that is the result of the extreme bias shown in its programming. If that is where you want to get your information that is your business but I prefer NPR, PBS, the Internet, or the Public Library.

The fact that Fox has high audience ratings merely reflects the poor state of intelligence in this country.

Franken is a successful cum laude Harvard graduate.

Your passing judgement on him is really pathetic.

Consider The Mess That Bush Left

after 8+ years of disastrous Republican rule. The leaderless GOP is grasping for anything that will rally the troops.

Palin's "celebrity" status fills the bill. Substance isn't needed to rally the mentally challenged Republicans. This has been made painfully apparent over the past decade.

I will personally welcome any rise of Palin's status in Republicanland. This would bode very well for the Dems in 2012.

As We Near The End As A Great Nation

we can see the predictable happening. The breakdown of political parties and the emergence of hate politics on the right an wishy-washy politics from the left. The political center is gone, and without it we have nothing.

The public CRAVES intelligent leadership and it is not forthcoming. We should listen to the young and the educated for they are our only hope.

The sooner the old farts die off the better.

Most Republicans Are Not Christians

If Jesus were alive today he would have some very harsh words to say to Republicans' "Every man for himself" philosophy.

Republicans worship money and control and the paint themselves as Christians with one thing in mind, to use the Bible as a means to control human behavior that is contrary to Republican values. This is about as far from Christianity as one can get.

The GOP negative reaction to healthcare reform illustrates this perfectly.

@terkoy

Please reread Joan's article. You missed the part where she identifies the sources of the complaints filed against Palin.

There will be a test on Friday.

Original article: The poison of celebrity

@something stinks

You repeated "MSM" in your post and I tried to find out what it stands for. Here is what I found:

"Men who have sex with men or males who have sex with males (MSM) refers to men who engage in sexual activity with other men, regardless of how they identify themselves; many choose not to accept social identities of gay or bisexual.[1][2][3][4][5] The term was created in the 1990s by epidemiologists in order to study the spread of disease among men who have sex with men, regardless of identity.[2]

MSM is often used in medical literature and social research to describe such men as a group for clinical study without considering issues of sexual self-identity."

I'm trying to be charitable here but your raving about Obama and repeating Limbaugh's diatribe and lies does not seem to square with "MSM".

Please enlighten us.

It's Important To Keep In Mind

who the Fox target audience is. I hear that certain zoo animals (the primates) are fascinated by Fox and they can be calmed down when the TV set is turned on.

I Knew It

I had the feeling that Palin was pushed on to the McCain ticket.

I guess this proves that McCain was not in charge, after all.

The GOP Is Anti-American

and it should be declared a threat to freedom, the Constitution, and the rule of law.
