Have you been missing the commentary of Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Savage, O'Reilly?

I'd say that the right wing has the hate, misinformation, lies and innuendo industries pretty well locked in.

The Proof Is In The Pudding

Observe the people around you and notice the high percentage that are noticeably overweight. Notice the high number of outright obese people.

This is a direct result of the marketing and consumption of poor-nutrition and high-calorie, high fat foods.

Diabetes is epidemic in the USA. Too many Americans cannot comfortably sit in average-size chairs (hence the huge, overstuffed furniture that is popular today).

Supersize those deep fried in corn oil fries!

A Young Woman

told me today that a mild concussion that she had while playing college sports two years ago has resulted in her being turned down for health insurance coverage by a major insurance company.

While we will be spending trillions of dollars fighting for no good reason in Iraq and Afghanistan American citizens are unable to buy health insurance.

This is a damned disgrace and any politician that opposes universal health care ought to be booted out of office.

We Are In Trouble

when the O'Reilly's of the world have any determination whatsoever in the course of our understanding of controversial events.

Always taking the low road, these media whores cater to an audience of ignorant people looking for comfort in easy answers and someone to blame.

And, I'll bet that Ahmadinejad forged his birth certificate also.

Thanks for the badly needed education on how a combined government/private healthcare system can work.

Your point about the lack of drug advertising on French TV is a point well-taken. US drug companies spend BILLIONS of dollars on radio, magazine, newspaper, and television advertising of presription drugs. You don't need to be too smart to figure out who pays for this unecessary cost.

Also, the huge portion of the advertisement posting warnings about possible hazards and side-effects probably turns many folks off about the drug.

There are two forces at work in America. The business interests vs. the people. Business tells us to reject any form of government run healthcare and likes to inform us that they employ people and are therefore our partners and we'll all benefit if they prosper. But this does not seem to be the result with American health care. Over 40,000,000 Americans are without health insurance. Our dismal standing among western nations tells the tale about how poor our healthcare system is.

Original article: Goodbye to cheap oil

A Benefit Not Mentioned

The continued withdrawal of biliions of barrels of crude from within the Earth will cause a collapse of the Earth's crust, filling the voids once filled with crude oil.

This will shrink the overall circumference of our planet accordingly, thereby shortening travel distances substantially. This will, in turn, reduce the amount of energy (oil) needed to get from point A to point B.

The eventual savings realized are hard to calculate but one can project an ever increasing rate of Earth shrinkage to an ever decreasing rate of oil consumption.

Eventuaslly, however, oil will cease to exist but the benefit of a much smaller planet will enable alternate forms of transportation, such as bicycling from California to Hawaii.

Going Forward

Dick Cheney, and others like him, must be held as examples of how national policies can be corrupted to fit a narrow and dangerous ideology.

The vast amount of information that Mr. Greenwald has presented should serve as a primer on the causes for our mismanaged foray into Iraq, and out failure to understand the importance of Afghanistan while human life and huge resources were wasted in Itaq.

The Bush Administration must be held accountable for its crimes and mismanagement.

It Will Never Happen

Obama needs all the political currency he can get in order to enact the health care reforms that he has promised.

The corrupt Republicans are not going to let reforms pass if Obama pushes for a federal prosecutor or Senate committee action to bring justice to torturers.

That is how justice is served in our government.

Iran will become a nuclear equipped country and there is not a damned thing that anyone can do about it.

We can thank the Bush Administration for that.

When Iran's neighbor was invaded because Bush, Cheney, and Powell lied, the Iranians figured that they could be next (who knows what the Bush loonies would do next, eh?) so they decided to buy some insurance.

Pretty smart, those Iranians.

GOP Moral Values

Isn't Ensign one of the Republicans that called for Clinton's impeachment?

Funny thing, But every time we drop a bomb on another country in our attempts to promote freedom and democracy civilians are hit, and killed, and wounded.

Those that are left soon learn some of the reasons why terrorists hate the USA and often times they join their ranks.

Excuse My Cynicism

"There is a reason that Conservatives (which I am) give more charities, donate more to churches, volunteer more in their community and do more for strangers than Liberals. Sorry it is a fact." Posted by Fawfamily.

Conservatives do not like taxes, which is a large part of their Republican Party platform. However, taxes are a major source of money for social causes and welfare.

Donations to charities are deductible from income taxes. So the largesse of the Republicans is somewhat offset by their reduced tax obligations and, consequently, less tax money for social causes. This puts an increased tax burden on everyone else.

So, in the end everyone pays one way or another.

Original article: Night of the living neocons

Definition Of Neocon

Neocon, n.: A ragtag bunch of disaffected conservatives whose entire view of the world is seen through "America First" glasses and totally unable to comprehend why bombing and killing civilians, destroying national unity, engaging in preemptive warfare, torturing suspects and prisoners is doing far more harm to the USA than good.
