Loosening financial regulation and Bush's Iraq War have created a financial disaster that the Republicans are trying to paper over by criticizing Obama's ideas.
The Republicans are living in glass houses. They are the party of the failed past and the only way they can rebuild is if Obama fails. That is a fallacy.
And if Hate Radio, Faux News, and the army of conservative media whores continue to be the public relations drivers of the GOP, they are doomed.
Unless the Republicans can repackage their party into a party with progressive ideas that appeal to voters outside of the confederate south, they'll continue to be marginalized.
You're just what the GOP needs, another lunatic-fringe, frothing-at-the-mouth screamer to lead them like lemmings to the sea. And, every time you open your mouth you drive another nail into ther GOP coffin.
Apparently the Repukes have learned nothing during the past two elections so let me provide a little enlightenment: The American public is done with the GOP and its failed leaders and its failed policies.
How can anyone take the GOP seriously as long as it is mislead by media whores, confederate hangers-on, and an electorate that thought Bush would make a fine president?
The best thing the Dems can do is to encourage more Republicans like Rush to divide the GOP and prove to the world that the GOP is, indeed, finished.
All along we were taught that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are inviolate, the very foundations of our freedom, not subject to rulers' whimsey or misguided governance.
We were wrong and something needs to be done to ensure that this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. The only way we can accomplish this is to drag the Bush Administration into court and state the charges leading to their prosecution as traitors to the US Constitution.
Starting with the prosecution of all involved in any illegal activity, punishment must fit the crime of treason, and a mechanism must be put in place to ensure that no Administration can wield such power over the American people.
Without this protection, we are a failed democracy.
The lower the GOP falls.
Good job, Rush.
"4. Americans love being ignorant. Wanting them to be more informed is a waste of time."
I believe that to be true. We don't want to be educated. We want to be entertained.
is a dream that is entirely possible given the quality of the discourse coming from the GOP.
James Carville said that Limbaugh's 11% approval rating with voters under the age of 40 is a huge boon for the Democrats.
"Keep Limbaugh talking" is a current strategy being used very successfully by Carville's group.
is actually possible, thanks to the GOP worship of idiots like Limbaugh.
whether from the Right or the Left, is the true enemy of our freedom.
We have seen it repeated time and time again and we fail to see through the lies and misinformation fed us by an establishment press and a useless Congress.
We are on the edge of a complete collapse because of the wreckage left by eight years of Bush Administration failures and illegal acts. It is absolutely necessary that the perpetrators of our problems be brought to justice.
Let's not forget the miserable condition that 8+ years of corrupt, illegal Republican rule has left us.
Imagine driving a car with no oil changes or maintenance for 200,000 miles and expecting a mechanic to fix the engine with chewing gum and rubber bands.
In effect, that is what too many are expecting of Obama. They want change but they fear what is necessary to accomplish it.
The Watergate scandal was discovered because a simple burglary was botched and discovered. Thanks to two reporters a much larger scandal was revealed, leading to the resignation of President Nixon.
The Bush Administration's crimes are far more serious than the Watergate break-in, but the deserved investigation and prosecution of those responsible has not moved forward with anywhere near the urgency that we saw with Watergate.
Our system of justice seems to be slowed by those fearing where an investigation may lead. Nobody wants to believe that we have a corrupt government but a clear and compelling case for prosecution must be made that is easily understood by average folks. Except for the investigative reporting that has been done by Glenn and very few others, the need for justice has not created the level of attention needed by the public.
One way or another, the Bush Administration must be held to account for its activities. If that is not done, our system of justice and our status as a world leader is severely damaged.
