Releasing all of the documents will not change the fact that torture was used.

Cheney's assertion is that the documents will somehow provide a justification for the use of torture.

Cheney just doesn't get it. There is no justification under US law, the Geneva Accords, and treaties for the use of torture.

Once we start looking for reasons and loopholes allowing the use of torture we have crossed the line. We become the enemy.

Imagine a guy strapped down and being waterboarded for the 20th time. What is he going to say?

Is he going to ask "What's for lunch today?" or is he going to say anything that will make the waterboarding stop.

The fact that Cheney would propose a justification for torture sheds a very bright light into his criminal mind and the stupidity of his supporters.

I don't care what the Bush apologists say. I know what I see, and that is all that is needed to know the failures of the Bush presidency.

If Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice or others in the Bush Administration are guilty of formulating policy approving torture they should be prosecuted and imprisoned if necessary.

Nobody wants to believe that we are the enablers of bad government when we elect smooth-talking liars like Cheney. The mentally-challenged Bush was elected to two terms. Did people think that Cheney was there just to sweep the floors?

If we do not prosecute all that were responsible for torturing prisoners we will set the stage for future Administrations to set their own rules, regardless of international laws, treaties, and just plain human decency.

Thanks to people like you, we, as a country espousing democracy and human respect are in a position where we are having to defend our despicable policies or apologize for them.

Stop talking about what Clinton did 10 years ago and remember the Nuremberg trials and the promise of "never again" and think about the fact that it, indeed, may have happened again. Whether its is 6 million, 60 million, or a few dozen does not change the law. Torture is torture.
