Sheesh!

It began the day after the Election. Questions and comments about Obama, that were answered during his candidacy if folks were paying attention.

I knew exactly the hind of leader I was voting for. Obama has not presented any surprises so far so I wonder why so many people are grinding their teeth down over events so far.

Obama is having to assume office in the wake of one of the worst, most corrupt, most incompetent Administrations ever.

Major changes are coming and too many folks fear change, it seems.

When You Start From Zero

you don't have to work too hard for a plus. Things are so bad now that the Democratic majority will be able to make sufficient positive changes to ensure further gains in 2010.

You have my word on this.

That should be "was fearing".

If Iraq Had WMD

the most immediate threat would have been to the Israelis, and they were (and are) certainly capable of eliminating such threats without our help.

When Bush reacted to blatantly suspicious intelligence and wanted to attack Iraq world support for the invasion was practically nil. This, in itself, should have been a strong reason not to invade but Bush, having decided months earlier to take out Saddam, went ahead anyway.

Give Bush credit for starting an unecessary war, killing thousands of Americans, wounding many thousands more, and causing the deaths of uncounted Iraqis citizens.

We Don't Know, But We Believe

We don't know how, or when, or even if the Universe was "created".

We don't know how life forms on Earth were started.

We don't know how long it took for life to begin on our planet. Too many people believe, yes believe, that all life on Earth was created in six days.

I suggest that to believe that life on Earth was created in a few days by a well-defined god one has to be in the same mental league as the Obama birth certificate conspirationists.

Someone proposes that they know that a birth certificate renders an election invalid and the reaction suggests that sufficient proof has been offered and it is time to paint signs and march to the Supreme Court.

The Mad Hatter's Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland seems more plausible now.

@rphillips111

Give it up, will you.

The lunatic fringe needs something to rant about, but this is over and done with.

Bush Feels That Preemptive War Is Necessary

but such a war is an act of terrorism in itself.

I guess the good Christian Bush is not a Christian after all.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008 03:50 PM

Dear Mr. Bush

As I recall, just prior to the 2006 midterm election you reiterated your support of Donald Rumsfeld by stating "Rumsfeld stays" as a response to a reporters question about the lack of progress in Iraq.

Well I guess the voters changed your mind because immediately after the election, with huge Republican losses and congressional control going to the Democrats, you replaced Rumsfeld and you changed tactics in Iraq.

It is too bad you waited until you were forced to make those changes because thousands of lives were lost while you persisted in a failed war policy.

The buck stopped with you but you still do not get it, do you.

Instead of smiling at the cameras and touting "success" in a war not yet one, you should be down on your knees begging forgiveness for your utter stupidity and probably criminal behavior.

That is your legacy.

It Is A Downhill Ride

$700 million is too much to effectively control, and not nearly enough to fix the problem.

It is (or was) hoped that the geniuses that led us into this mess would get us out. So far we've received nothing, no reports, no data, no plan and no progress.

Am I wrong in thinking that we're on the Titanic and we're trying to launch the lifeboats?

@Lee in LA

In memory of the thousands killed, wounded, and displaced in Iraq, let's impeach Bush, Cheney, et al before we start in on the Chicago crowd, eh?

I Voted For Obama

but I am opposed to elaborate, expensive, and unecessary inaugurations.

I do, however, support any and all celebration of the end of the Bush Administration.

@theplanner

Obama's background has been investigated thoroughly by government services equipped to find the details.

The conservative Supreme Court refused to hear the "birth cerificate" issue. It has no merit except with the lunatic fringe.

You ask for the names of every Obama contributor that gave less than $200.? Get them yourself. Apparently you have lots of time on your hands.

@theplanner

Brilliant, but your comedy pieces need a punchline.

How about: Dateline, Roswell New Mexico.

Limbaugh Is GOP King

A few conventions ago, Limabaugh was given a standing ovation by the huge crowd attending a GOP campaign gathering.

This was very scary. That so many mindless idiots could actually be deciding the fate of our country was an insult to the American ideal and the American dream.

Omigod!

Just when we were starting to look sane in the eyes of the world the Republican Hate, Lies, and Innuendo machine cranks up.

$26. per Hour

That is the average hourly pay earned by autoworkers. Nonunion autoworkers earn a bit less - around $22. - $24. per hour.

Factory workers include highly skilled people, tool and die makers, machine programmers, inspectors, and supervisors that are included in the hourly wage pool.

They all earn their pay.

Their benefits, on the other hand, are too liberal, such as pay for no work. These excessive contract items should be negotiated out of the contracts.

I'm pretty sure that most of the UAW would allow a reduction in benefits rather than to close the factories.
