Somewhere In Texas A Village Is Missing Its Idiot

I'm not a supporter of Bush but I find it hard to believe that he would knowingly commit America to a war where thousands of soldiers and civilians would be killed and wounded.

So, let's give him the benefit of doubt for a moment and consider this: Suppose Bush honestly believed that Americans would be welcomed by the Iraqis and praised for removing Saddam.

Of course, only a simple-minded idiot would think that we could march into a country, remove its leader, disband its military and civilian police, allow mobs to raid museums, stores, and to have access to unlimited explosives and weapons (furnished by us), to obtain a successful result.

So, lets allow Bush to wander through the fog and do no further harm. And lets hope that the Democrats can increase their majority in Congress so that the will of the people is finally respected and acted upon.

Divisive Politics

The divide between left and right politics has been aggravated by the Christian Right. The GOP courted the conservative Christians to the detriment of our political process.

The extreme social positions supported by the Christian Right have driven a wedge into the American political landscape. This has contributed to the lack of cooperation and compromise between Democrats and Republicans.

This is going against democratic principles of fair play and respect for opposing views. Instead, we have a right vs. wrong Biblical mentality that is polluting political and social discourse.

Sooner or later, Americans will wake up to the fact that the teachings of Jesus Christ are not well represented by the Christian Right.

Is The End Near ?

When a lunatic like Limbaugh can get this much attention and cause the Repukes to march to his tunes lock-step, we are in deep trouble.

I remember a GOP national convention some years back when Limbaugh received a standing ovation celebrating his mud-slinging benefit to a recent election.

The GOP is beholden to right wing loonies and religious nuts. They deserve to be treated as a national disease.

It Happened Again

Once again, I am not surprised at the utter stupidity and barefaced gall of Bush.

Once again I am not amazed at the dismal performance of the US Congress. Healthcare in America is a national disgrace and all Congress is concerned about is getting reelected and toadying up to Bush.

I Feel For Jenna

Imagine growing up in the Dubya family. My God, if my father was Bush I would be on drugs my entire life.

Saying that, she should avoid the mass media whenever possible.

Kerry Is A Big Zero

Too bad he doesn't fight like Elizabeth Edwards. We'd have a better country if he did.

He let the Repuke liars walk all over him.

What a wus.

Mozart Did It

During Mozart's early years, many people would not believe a child composing and playing great music.

How wrong they were.

Conservative Radio and TV Personalities and Journalists

Rush Limbaugh and others like him are essentially "preaching to the choir" and entertaining to like-minded listeners and viewers.

But as far as actually changing ones' mind or educating an audience, they fail. They merely reinforce existing beliefs and because their obvious bias renders them useless as agents of change or providers of accurate information.

Plenty Of Ammunition To Be Used

Bush and the corrupt GOP have handed so many potent issues to the Democrats that it is hard to list them all.

Will the Dems use GOP failures to help further their cause? So far, it doesn't look too good. The Dems need to adopt a more hardball strategy if they hope to capture the mood of many voters.

Last Election's defeat of the GOP should be just the beginning. Voters expressed themselves very effectively and the Dems have yet to capitalize on that.

Democratic candidates must be willing to constantly remind voters of GOP failures in a consistent, intelligent way. Then, believable solutions and ideas must be presented.

Let's hope that the Dems grass-roots campaigns address the issues that voters obviously want addressed.

The Terrorists' Ally

Bush is the terrorists' best friend. he constantly plays into their hands with his dimwitted policies and his inept handling of American forces and policies.

Bush's latest speeches are obviously written for him and, like the puppet he is, he dutifully reads them to us. "We do not torture" is the latest script he has been handed to read to us.

9/11 was a terrible thing. Bush is a disaster doing far more harm to our country than the 9/11 perpetrators.

Not Surprised

I'm not surprised that Cheney would want to limit or deny free speech if it got in his way.

This Administration is the most un-American Administration since Richard Nixon. I fault our do-nothing Congress for allowing these criminals and liars to carry on without any attempt to protect our rights and freedoms.

Saddam A Threat To The USA ?

Saddam's Iraq has been infamously cited as an immediate threat to the USA and a cause for immediate military action against Iraq.

How in the name of Creation can someone actually believe that Iraq (with its defeated military and no navy and no air force) mount an effective attack against the USA? It could not defeat Iran and that was with our help, to boot, and Iraq had full military strength.

Paranoid right wingers in this country hijacked intelligence estimates and biased, faulty data from a couple of questionable sources and took us into a war.

Remember Cheney's secret meetings with the oil industry prior to the Iraq invasion? It would not surprise me if this war is about oil, after all.

Attention !

Boy, you wanna get everyone riled up about something then let's talk about the flag.

Honest to God, what a bunch of simple-minded folks that think wearing a flag pin is somehow patriotic.

I guess if you are not wearing a flag pin you must hate America.

Just Getting Started

Bill Clinton is arguably the smartest politician in the country but Hillary is smart too, and a WOMAN to boot.

I can see why the Let's Hate Hillary crowd is worried. They are seeing what America has been waiting for and they can't do a damn thing about it.

The game is getting interesting and it's only the pregame show.
