Regardless of your defense of Gitmo, the reported abuses there have done much to encourage terrorism and reduce any positive influence that America has in the war on terrorism.

The treatment of a few detainees have done more to further the cause of terrorists than anything Saddam could have done.

Defending detainees in accordance with the Supreme Court rulings and the Geneva Accords is a noble cause, and will do much toward building confidence in America as a moral leader in the fight against terrorism.

If we descend to the level of the terrorists we become a part of their cause. Your thinking, I fear, does much to push us in that direction.

Palin Will Not Change Any Votes

towards McCain. She will, however, cause McCain to lose votes as the few Republican thinking voters wake up to the farce that she is.

McCain By 80% - Fox News

That should seal the deal as to whether Fox News is legitimate, or merely a shill for the Republican Party,

In Palin's Narrow Republican World

only Christians need apply for public office.

This is in direct conflict with the Constitution.

Who, Me?

And Sarah, of course, was totally oblivious to all of this.

In Their Last Throes

The rabid Republicans at McCain's rallies are indicative of a campaign that is lost.

And, I'll wager that no small percentage of the haters are actors paid to whip up the mob.

For Obama stories attend a McCain rally. The stories are mostly lies, of course, but that does not seem to matter to the GOP nutcases in attendance.

Friday, October 10, 2008 10:10 AM

The McPalin Campaign

is sort of interesting because everything they do will result in more votes for Obama.

Strange.

Just Out Of Curiosity

Which, exactly, "Rove-like tactics" are being used by Obama?

Friday, October 10, 2008 04:19 PM

Is McPalin Stupid?

Exactly what kind of a campaign is John and Whatshername running?

People are fed up with the personal insults and racial slurs.

I think the game changer is Sarah Palin. She has done more damage to McCain than anything else.

Friday, October 10, 2008 07:00 PM

The Palin Factor

The McCain campaign was better off before they selected Palin. They got a big boost when the McCain/Palin ticket was announced but, since then, they have done very poorly. This latest revelation about Palin's misuse of power drives a stake into the McCain campaign.

With nothing but bad news in the financial sector, this is badly needed good news.

The best thing she could do now is to drop off the ticket. I'll bet the GOP has a backup candidate waiting in the wings.

The Stumbling McPalin Campaign

has just stepped into an open cesspool.

A fitting end, actually.

Everything you say illustrates just how close we are to anarchy. We like to think that, within our own borders, we are insulated from the same forces that gave rise to Nazi power before WW II, but we are not.

You capitalized "Bush" and failed to capitalize "obama".

This, I fear, speaks volumes.

Wow. You are truly a part of Palin's crowd. It must be nice to be a follower, never having to think or fully understand the issues.

Palin has abused her office. She is Not Qualified to be the vice president.

Deal with that.

We've had enough of Republican malfeasance by BushCo. Why would we want Palin in office?

"The state of Alaska investigation concluded on October 10, 2008. After a full day of deliberation, the twelve members of the legislative commission voted unanimously to release the 263-page report."

"Governor Sarah Palin abused her power as Governor in that her conduct violated AS 39.52.110(a) of the Ethics Act, which provides "The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."

Murder? What do you call the deaths of 5000+ Americans and many more thousands of Iraqis in an unecessary war?

An accident?

A Boost For Obama

The GOP hate and lies campaign is preaching to their choir.

Meanwhile, Obamas poll numbers keep increasing.

Bless you, GOP.

It is entirely possible that McCain is erratic. Obama is definitely not a terrorist.

Therin lies the difference.

I seriously doubt that anything from Faux News will change one vote.

Sunday, October 12, 2008 05:46 PM

Todd Palin

Just imagine. If by some quirk in the Universe McPalin is elected we'll have Todd whispering in Sarah's ear.

Keeping in mind Todd's past associations, this is totally possible, and unacceptable.

Remember Keating?

McCain's past association with Keating was far worse than any of Obama's "associations".

So, the GOP won't be pushing the association angle too hard.

Kristol must be brain dead.

I share your concerns exactly. I am waiting for the inevitable "October Surprise" that Republicans are famous for. I keep thinking that they have dredged up some dirt on Obama that will be headlined in a few days.

And Palin? Don't get me started. If there ever was an unsult to the intelligence of the American voter, she is it.
