Not To Worry

Christianity has promised a Second Coming and the Rapture (one comes before the other but I can't recall which one)so all of this hand-wringing, wailing, and knashing of teeth is wasted.

Sit back and watch Fox News. Oh, and take your meds.

Speaking For Jesus

Jesus spoke to me saying "look at what these idiots are doing in my name".

I'm just passing that along ....

Original article: Don't call it a bailout

Thank God It's Friday

The weekend ought to help cool things down a bit. Come Monday, they'll sift through the wreckage and cobble together a new financial machine, using the old parts of course.

Perhaps this one will run better.

"Black trash in the White House" ?? You'll make a good Republican.

Question

Will the "Iranian threat" go away when we leave Iraq?

Saturday, October 4, 2008 04:38 PM

GOP Terrorism

is the biggest threat. The past eight years has seen us more divided, with more threats to our Constitution and the separation of powers than ever before. Oh, and let's not forget the Unecessary War we're fighting in Iraq (thank you Dick Cheney).

Terrorism? It's here folks and John and Sarah are a part of it.

Saturday, October 4, 2008 04:42 PM

@RIChris

Folowing your line of reasoning, I cannot name one person that you know that is not a terrorist.

@cjger31

I have friends and relatives living in the California farm belt and most of the have Fox News on the TV all day long. It's always in the background, like a dark shadow constantly spewing sensationalism disguised as news.

I wonder how a news organization can hope to be perceived as "fair and balanced" when their screen graphics are red, white and blue with an American flag waving in the corner.

The GOP's Whore

"Palling around with terrorists" is a blatant lie and the Democrats should be labeling Palin as a liar.

Pure, and simple.

@fbair1

Please name Obama's "pals" and the specific crimes they have committed and what Obama's relationship is.

Your response can be verified on Snopes.com.

The Elephant In The Room

is the economy. The bad news this morning overshadows the petty campaigning and puts the focus on a real issue.

So far, the voters like Obama on the economy but any attempt to weave economic issues into the campaign will be very difficult owing to the complexity of the issues.

The Bush Administration has eight years of economic effect and Obama can effectively use that to beat down the McCain campaign.

The Republican Disease

The epidemic is starting. The airhead is trying to trash Obama and looking foolish in the process.

Americans are tired of Swift Boat campaigning.

Give us some credit.

A Close Election

will reveal that almost half of American voters are knee-jerk fools that feed on Republican propaganda.

Our financial crisis may well be overshadowed by a severe mental crisis.

The GOP Is Speaking To Voters' Ignorance

Fortunately, they are preaching to their own choir.

@Fladad

At this point before the Election most voters have decided.

These smear campaigns are useless, but great fun.

@bearpaw1

Excellent post.

Our response to the 9/11 attacks has been said to have prevented any further attacks on the US but the world view is not so rosey.

So far, more than 4,000 Americans have been killed in Iraq, casualties are mounting in Afghanistan, plus 30,000 wounded troops, and America has lost the respect it once had in the world. This, by any measure, is a victory for the terrorists.

Why should they attack us here when they can wait for us to show up in their front yard.

The Destruction Of Species

is occurring at an alarming rate. A recent study estimated as much as a 25% loss in mammal species to date, and the rate of extinction is increasing.

There is no way to stop this short of global warfare to prevent humans from gobbling up the rain forest for farming, illegal hunting, human population expansion, and pollution.

Common sense and logic does not play a part in this mess because humans cannot plan for the future. We react to a crisis, put the train back on the tracks, and away we go.

Sorry to be such a pessimist but nothing has provided much in the way of optimism.

Human population growth guarantees a tragic outcome.

Elephantman

Thank you for narrowing everything down to "bottom feeding trial lawyers".

This will greatly simplify the task of saving the planet from overpopulation and pollution.

@MICKI

I guess some of us remember the thinking that spawned the Nazi's growth in prewar Germany.

We really don't want that to happen here.

Do not underestimate the power of hatred and the subtle ways it can be expressed..

"The Economy is Sound"

Is there a consensus as to the cause(s) of the financial trainwreck?

It seems to me that the public is not convinced that Washington fully understands the problem nor what to do about it.

John McCain recently stated that "the economy is strong" as did Dumbya.

It is no wonder that folks are scared.

McCain's Quiet Rage

"My friends" was used by McCain too many times. It suggests that snake oil is being sold.

McCain is reported to have a nasty temper and his forced quiet delivery and body language reminded me of someone struggling to maintain control.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 10:38 PM

Too Many Campaign Sound-bites

Both Obama and McCain overdid the campaigning in this debate. I hate stuff like that.

I was craving direct answers to the quetions and not the off-topic jabs and repetitive statements.

Hannity

Why is Hannity taken for anything more than he is, a shill for GOP propaganda and a bad actor to boot.

Hard-core Republicans make up the vast bulk of his audience. Hannity does little more than preach to his own choir.
