@rupert_c

Biological evolution takes place over a timespan of millions, perhaps billions, of years so it is not a mystery as to why it has not been observed within the time period that civilized humans have existed.

Creation, on the other hand, states that the world was completed in six days.

If I believe in evolution, I accept that I am merely a part of a mysterious world and not its lord and keeper. I accept doubt as a pathway to knowledge.

If I believe that everything now observable was created by an Entity, I am putting myself above doubt and question and that is contrary to the fullest use of the most important human trait of them all, critical thought.

So, What's McCain Gonna Do?

Is he going to contribute ANYTHING towards solving the financial crisis by postponing the debate?

Isn't true leadership the ability to handle multiple problems and issues?

Perhaps he'd like to postpone the Iraq War for the Election.

Cabinet Choices?

As important as the Pres and VP are the Cabinet choices that will make up the new Administration.

The candidates should make their choices known as soon as possible and BEFORE the Election.

Obama's War Vote

Without saying "I told you so.", Obama should be playing his "No" vote on the Iraq invasion as a fundamental qualification as a leader.

McCain's talk of an Iraq "fledgling democracy" is laughable. Nobody knows what the final outcome of the Iraq War will be.

We attacked the wrong country, for the wrong reasons, using the wrong military and political strategies. We were losing the war until the Democrats' control of Congress forced Bush to replace Rumsfeld.

That is all Obama had to say in response to the question.

McCain Is A Republican

The Republican Party will mold McCain into their platform with total disregard for McCain's past positions on issues and policy.

The result is the Two Faces of McCain.

As icing on the cake, they saddled him with a moose-hunting nobody for his VP in order to focus the spotlight away from McCain' failing campaign.

From The Bottom Up

Instead of giving a $700 billion gift to the financial industry, give it to the citizens.

If "incentive rebates" are supposed to help revive the economy then this would be the mother of all stimulus programs.

A direct infusion of this amount of money at the consumer level will have an immediate benefit for everyone.

After Eight Years of Republican Mismanagement

why would anyone in their right mind vote for John McCain?

His "maverick" status went by the boards long ago. Now he is just another Republican shill.

Donna2006

You may want to remind yourself that Republicans have been in the majority during the past 8+ years and that the conservatives' desire for less regulation may be at fault.

Look at the Bush Administration scorecard on the economy, the war and Iran's increased influence in the Middle East, the failure to recognize the importance of the conflict in Afghanistan, the loss of support from other western countries, the Katrina response, the decimating of environmental protections, and now the implosion of a mismanaged economy.

Original article: How Sarah Palin blew it

Nothing's Changed

The debate will probably not change one vote. Palin's perception of the vice presidency was way off the mark. The only duty the VP has in Congress is to break a tie vote.

She was reading from Cheney's playbook as to what she would want to see in the vice presidency.

Very scary indeed.

Too Cutesy

I suspect that Sarah has apent too much time in front of a mirror. Her staged facial expressions and phoney retorts wear thin very quickly.

She honestly believes that her beauty pageant training will work here.

And the Republicans just gobble it up.
