Bingo !
And I hope that the Democratic candidates (for whatever office) recite this list of Republican accomplishments as a preamble to every speech.
And we've endured the Republican Party's performance for far too many years.
McCains attempts at moderation are an act - just to get elected. Once in office McCain will be a GOP puppet just like Bush.
A wall is building, made of bricks of lies by the Bush Administration.
The duty of Congress is to tear down that wall, brick by brick, and ensure that everyone understands how the GOP operates.
Comments and opinions as posted in Elephantman's letter illustrate the level to which much discourse has fallen.
Instead of addressing the issue head-on, with facts and research, we are fed sound-bites and biased opinions often times coming across like a child's rant against a parent.
Republicans booing a newly appointed Democratic Representative in Congress during her introductory speech illustrate perfectly the level of mentality expressed by narrow-minded people.
So much damage has been done to America by the current Administration that it will take years of cooperation in Congress to repair. This cannot be helped by so-called adults behaving like spoiled children.
Elephantman's rant illustrates this perfectly, but I will give Elephantman credit for energizing the opposition.
BushCo failures include HUD, Veterans' Care, FEMA, the FAA, Rumsfeld, Iraq, Iran, etc.
I suspect that the problem began with Bush appointing non-qualified lackeys to manage these departments.
The blame can be directed to American voters electing Bush and Cheney, and other non-qualified lackeys of neoconservatism.
Is anyone keeping score of the Bush failures? That information may be useful in the upcoming Election.
I fear that John McCain, if elected, will guarantee four years of Bush policies and the continuing degradation of our Constitutional protections.
Be happy, buy and drive those huge SUVs and fashion pickup trucks. John McCain would like to postpone the inevitable - at least until he is elected. Then, the real money problems begin.
Why are Republicans so unable to promote conservation? Answer: They think it is bad for business.
He knows that the average American will choose the quick and easy road every time. The Republican Snake Oil Economic Plan at work.
Never mind the disaster ahead.
And thinking. And expressing intelligent views.
Because he has challenged us.
Feels pretty good, doesn't it. Much better than the mindless pap about guns and religion from the Republicans.
When a public servant lies in order to protect him/her self or to promote or defend an idea, that person should be charged with a misdemeanor.
Of course proof is needed but it seems that in many cases that proof is in the public record and not all that hard to find.
Campaign speeches should not be exempt from this liability. I suppose it is hard to convict someone saying "Oops, I forgot" but outright lies should be treated as a punishable offense.
Failure to do this results in a general degradation of public discourse and a loss of respect for our government officials.
Blame the GOP Party strategists for the dirty tricks they continue to use every election.
The Repukes may denounce Brown publicly but under it all they are thankful for his dirty politics.
If we haven't seen the proof of GOP mischief over the past 15 years we are not looking too hard.
I cannot understand how anyone can support a GOP that preaches morality and "family values" and behaves the opposite.
Relying upon mindless patriotism, fear of a growing jewish population, groupthink mentality, and endless propaganda the Nazis put together a program that enlisted an entire civilian population in a world war.
Any similarity to the Republican Party is purely coincidental.
I tried watching the first Harold & Kumar movie but I had to turn it off once I realized that the film was intended for 12 year olds with severe learning deficiencies.
Clearly, McCain must have an inside line into Hamas' thinking.
Perhaps Mr. McCain would be so kind as to lend the Israelis his insight. I'm sure this will solve the crisis quickly.
I will make an equally valid prediction that, if elected, John McCain will cause sea levels to reverse course and drop.
Are the Democrats becoming the new party of failure? After watching Bush and the GOP reinvent political and military insanity it would seem to be relatively easy for the Dems to put together a cohesive strategy for the upcoming Election.
Instead, we are seeing petty squabbles having nothing to do with solving real problems.
Reverend Wright will be forgotten after the Election, perhaps before.
Then all the small minds can relax.
Fact: Most conservatives consider themselves Christians.
Fact: Many conservatives are OK with the torture of terrorists.
Anyone see the problem here?
McCain is merely adding more fuel to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Unless the USA can undo centuries of mideast warfare and hatred we can only mess things up.
Our track record in Vietnam, South America, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan doesn't help us much either.
Electing another puffed-up GOP sabre-rattler is not a good idea.
Nothing to see here folks.
Wright is a nobody. Let him sink back into the slime.
As energy and food costs soar ever higher, and we continue to piss away our treasure in Iraq, we'd better find something more substantial than a religious lunatic to worry about.
Prediction: In the weeks leading to the upcoming election watch how gas prices start to drop.
This happened during the last election and a few folks were awake enough to notice.
Could our wasteful use of gas needed to fuel huge pickups and SUVs somehow contribute to rising gas prices?
Would Bush ever mention conservation as a possible solution to excessive demand driving up prices?
