A-Holes are Gender Neutral

A little off the topic but someone really has a hate going on for his opposite gender . . . .

There are indeed a lot of immature manipulative gold digger women out there. I've met them. I've watched them in action working over some poor guy. Unfortunately when the "bad" person is pretty and charming and gearing their personality towards her target, men will willingly walk into the trap.

Same goes the opposite way. Lots of sane loving women are taken in by the male version of the "bad" woman. He is charming and handsome and "totally" focused on the unsuspecting woman.

Unfortunately the players never connect with the diggers, probably for the same reason a shark won't eat a lawyer (as the old joke goes)

But most men and most women are not like that. How can you convict an entire gender for the actions of a relative few? Unfortunately, bitterness and suspicion can be the product of relationships. Perhaps there is safety in thinking all women are bad, that way you are always the victim and never have to try?

I prefer to think that there is good out there, and steer clear of the obvious charmers. Perhaps our bitter poster should open his eyes to the women he never sees.

Original article: The selling of Sarah Palin

Edwards was Pretty

Hmmm . . . I remember when Edwards was running for the nomination and all the right wing talking heads were clamouring that women were so stupid, they would vote for the "hunk".

Seems like the GOP has now embraced touting "hotness" as a candidate quality!

I've no real beef with Palin. She seems spunky and not overly polished. I like that. What I know of her, well, we don't share many views and that is why I would not support her.

Do I think she is qualified for VP? No, but this country is famous for electing un-qualified people for high office if we connect with them emotionally. Hell, Bush was not qualified and see how that worked out for us {smirk}

Will she be able to take over when McCain keels over with a heart attack 2 weeks after the election? No - but what a good TV series that would make!

self fullfilling philosphy

Brightstar - it sounds like you seek out women who prove your point and then, proved right that the woman is untrustworthy, hold her up to the world as proof that you are correct.

Its the theory of sets - women are in one large set. Just because a woman is bad, it does not follow that all members of the set are bad, just that you seem to be trapped in the subset of "bad women".

I suggest you expand your horizons but you need a new philosophy should you do that - most reasonable responsive women would run for the hills if they met someone who spoke of women the way you do here. You are the male version of a woman who declares ALL men are rapists. What kind of man would date a woman who thinks like that? What kind of woman would date a man who thinks like you?

I would find you scary and potentially violent given your virulent opinion of women. Maybe you are not either, but I can imagine being very uncomfortable stuck on an elevator with you if you were to discuss your views. Not trying to diss you, but you need to listen to yourself. Substitute the words "jew", "black", "liberal" for "women" and see what I mean.

I see the problem!

Brightstar said, in reference to his past girlfriends "Yet still, each one of them had a passel of 'deal breaker' behaviors, attitudes, conditions, etc etc that they could not tolerate in their boyfriend. Stupid stuff like I had to be liberal and eat all that crap up or else. I kept quiet. It was quite clear what the alternative was."

Okay, Brightstar, if you were nice enough to get them and then started spouting the stuff you do here - NO WONDER THEY RAN!

No "good" woman will stay with a man who obviously disrespects them - especially if they are only dating. The women who would stay with a man who dispises their 'group' have some other issues going on.

The problem with women Brightstar is all in your head.

Women and showing interest

Asehpe - I've wondered if the real reason women don't seem to make passes or are too passive lies more in women have a different communication style than men. Whether it is inherent, or cultural, I am not sure.

I know that I have made overtures to a man, only to find out later, he totally did not pick up on it. Over his head, or under his wire, he totally missed it! I've seen different communication styles at work - at work as well. I've had to modify my style to be heard (when I work with mainly men). And that style does not work well in groups of mainly women.

It would be interesting to see taught how to recognise communication styles - the way there are classes in working with the Japan, and now, working with India classes are offered in the corporate world. Women working with men seem to be more (overtly) successful when they adopt a male style. And I have noticed that men who have a lot of female friends, have adopted some female communication techniques. Curiously, the typical "man's man" only seems to attract a bevy of beta men! (and women who like sports cars :)

But this is far off topic . . . . okay $26 for unprotected sex with a London hooker? Is that US or Euro. Times are tough I guess.
