married well?

What was that same ole tired joke Bush would make where ever he was speaking in support of some politician? Something about how he and "Guy X" have something in common, "we married well"

This McCain thing is just the same. He just seems to have no clue. Just wants to get elected.

He, like Bush, married "well"

I am SO tired of the Rethugs, Demos aren't much better but they are by comparison. I would vote in a blue balled monkey, just to get some change. At least we wouldn't have to listen to all that pandering when they talk about The Wife.

Forgiveness?

I doubt very much women "forgive" their significant other for having sex with another woman.

I think they decide to soldier on because of the investment they have in the relationship. But forgive? I don't think it is ever totally forgiven - just like the blow to their self esteem is never totally recovered from.

I feal a sense of loathing for Edwards. I guess I really wanted him to be one of the good guys. He was right though when he said it was a narssicistic thing to do - what do these Pols think? That no one out there is not ready to take them down the minute they can get some dirt on them? Stupid vain fool.

better with age?

I know for a fact that you can be a better athlete when you are 20 years older. I know this because I am faster than I was 15 years ago. I know how to get the most out of what I can do.

So I do believe that it is possible for Dara to be better now than she was - without drugs aiding her now.

However . . . .

For sheer athleticism - a 20 year old performing at their highest performance will outperform their own self at 40. If the person is performing at the same personal level at both ages. What I mean by this is that Dara just might not have been performing at the very best she could have when she was 20. She obviously is a very talented athlete. What she has now is a mature mind and self knowledge and that, and good trainers, is probably why she is performing at her very best now.

Kudos to her.

But what a shame that so many people think if you are 40 and a Mom you can't possibly be an Olympian.

body types

There are a lot of comments on how Dara looks "manish".

Really? To me her body type is female androgenous. What people seem to mean is that she doesn't have the body fat, hips and large breasts that we associate with "female".

Let's consider body types, eh? She would NOT be as good as she is if she was "built" like a Playboy centerfold. She also would not be an Olympic athlete if her sport was say, gymnastics. Or marathon running. Or weight lifting.

There are some body types that perform better doing somethings than others.

The same goes for the men. Top bicyclists look different than basketball players.

As far as Dara looking mannish? This is the typical slam thrown at women when people want to tear them down (men get the sexuality slam, women get the appearance) Dara looks like an attractive midlife woman who has the luxury and interest in training to perform at the highest level. The result of that kind of training is the building of muscles and the loss of fat. Boobs and butts are made up of a lot of fat and that is what goes out the window when you tone up to Dara's degree.

lantern jaw?

Really? You mean like Tori Spelling or that twit Heidi something?

I read a lot of "critiques" of those no talent celebs and people mock their manish jaws too.

Has Dara taken something? I don't know and really hope not but given what the prize is if you get away with it - I know that a lot of athletes are tempted. I am disappointed every time I find at a talented athlete has used something. Because, though it might not have given them the winning edge, it forever places doubt and destroys what they achieved.

I guess I get peeved at people sniping at a woman's looks and un-gendering her. There is SO much crap leveled at ANY woman who comes under the glare of a camera and gets in the media. If you have small breasts and are thin - you are anorexic and built like a boy, if you have more flesh then you are a fat cow, if you don't have a gorgeous face, then you are just jealous and that is the reason you critique a image obsessed culture, etc. I really get tired of hearing snipes made at some woman who has the audacity of being in the public without looking like a barbie.

So Dara's face is not Angelina beautiful. So what.

Cosmo Girls!

I always wondered if Cosmopolitan wasn't owned by the Playboy industry. It always seemed to promote how to be a super sexy hot hot hot sex machine totally indepentant kind of gal. Playboy seemed to be promoting that all kinds of hot hot hot super sexy gals are out there just waiting for your man meat and are so independant that sex is going to be relationship and string free.

Oh, and Hot Hot Hot.

Does anyone ever take Cosmopolitan serious?
