Would the reverse hold?

I wonder what "Dr" Laura would say about the wife, who has a husband too busy with his job to have a sex life or be emotional available or too pre-occupied to say some thing nice to his wife, if that wife decided to destroy her career, his reputation and their marriage because she sought the attention of some young hunk who paid attention to her sexually and as a woman?

Would "Dr" Laura suggest that when women stray it is most likely due to the men not making the women important and desirable and loved?

I think not. She would just say the woman was a slut.

tread carefully

The LW should tread very carefully.

When the desire for babies preceed the desire for a life partner, I have seen so many (mostly) women do what ever it takes to get the baby and husband (which seems a secondary concern)

Getting in a relationship and having a baby quickly is usually disastarous. The relationship with the father is not established enough. If pregnancy is used to jump start a wedding (and that still happens), watch out for some resentment behaviour on the part of the father.

Bum rushing some man you are dating to get your way of marriage and babies seems to be disrespectul of good men and will more than likely hook you up with men with some issues as well.

28 is not old. But don't just date now. Look for relationships with men who are interested in starting a family with someone.

Figure out what you want in a relationship first. Picture it without children. How does that look. You already know how it looks in your head with children, but it is the relationship between you and your significant other that is most indicative of how a marriage with children will carry out.

Then date appropriate men. Women in late 20's seem to want to settle down. Men in early to mid 30's seem to be in the same frame of mind. Only date men who are on the same track as you or you will waste time. Or be a manipulative woman giving all of us out there a bad name.

Don't have children before you have been with someone in a serious relationship for 2 years. Try not to let "I wanna a babeee!" rule in your decisions - women are to be avoided when they are in that mode as they tend to get their way and then the child and father get less than they deserve. The women don't get what they wanted ultimately either.

patriarchy?

People want to make a big deal out of the fact it is those asswipe mothers that are doing this to their female children.

I don't know if it is "the patriarchy" that does this or not, but open any Playboy from the last 6 or 7 years. You can hardly find a "model" in there who has any pubic hair left. I think all of the Playboy Bunny of the Year for the last decade or so has had a boob job. And now women are having thier labia cut to look like those models in Playboy who have their exposed labia photoshopped out.

Playboy, Maxim and their ilk are instructional mags for women - they show us explicitly what men find "attractive". The women's mags exist to inform women they are defective and all the ways they can "improve". The combination is kind of deadly to women, and men now have some sort of distorted view of what women look like. Real women that is.

Judging from the lad magasines and porn, men seem to like the large fake boobs on top and the child like vulva below.

So women react - stupidly. Or rather, stupid women react. And women who have grown up with the increasing acceptance of a boob job and removing pubic hair are now introducing these values to their daughters, where in the past, they may have only introduced makeup and hair styles.

This won't stop until women decide men aren't worth it, or men decide fake women are repugnant.

Don't see when that will happen, so . . . my guess is that this is just the way it will go on.

men and silicon

I hear men say that they prefer natural vs fake boobs, but I have yet to meet a man who rejects a woman when he finds out she is fake. And I know a number of women with fake tatas (for cosmetic reasons). None of them are alone for long.

As long as men will notice women with big tatas over those with more, uhm, modest "lady lumps", women will stuff their bras, and get implants sewn in there.

Oh - and I LOVE the distinction made between tats and implants! So true.

statistics?

What are the statistics on lesbians getting boob jobs? Same percentage as straight women?

There are women who do live celebate lives for a variety of reasons - do any of these women get boob jobs for esteem reasons?

Can you really try as say that women get boob jobs because they just consider it a body modification thing like hair style and colour, tatoos, tanning? I don't think so.

Women get boob jobs because men notice boobs - especially the bigger variety. It is as simple as that.

And when women get a boob job, they are basically saying that they buy into the image that is set by porn, advertising and the lad/ladette mags. They are willing to modify themselves to conform to a breast image that men are increasingly thinking is "normal"

Forget the "self esteem" "want to balance out myself" "my breasts didn't develop" "want to be able to buy those cute clothes" crap excuses. Women who get vanity boobs are doing it for male sexual attention. (Of course, you could say the increased attention does increase the barbie's self esteem!)
