Yesterday I viewed a DVD of "Recount" the HBO movie about the 2000 Florida voting fiasco.
The scenes with Katherine Harris, another former beauty queen, brought to mind our current female right-wing stalwart.
How low can she go. Apparently there's no limit.
When I was young like writer, I occasionally would be overcome by a fatigue while walking at night and would lie down on the grass and find myself looking up at the stars, overwhelmed by awe at the immensity of the universe and a feeling that I was grasping some great truth.
Of course, I did not meet the writer's list of requirements for being taken seriously (i.e., great relationship, solid family, plenty of money, and the promise of a secure, uneventful and possibly boring life ahead).
I am thinking that this is indeed a message from her subconscious about the truth she hides from, that despite her yuppie qualifications, she is troubled that there may be more to life, which she has no idea how to access.
