Hacker is a patriot

Back in the olden days - prior the new & improved - Hoyer/Cheney/Rockefeller/Addington FISA Bill - I would probably agree with Greenwald's assessment that Hacker was a criminal and deserved to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Now, not so much.

Who is to say, Hacker wasn't just checking to make sure Palin isn't too cozy with Russia? Afterall, she can see Russia from her house practically. Maybe she is on Putin's friends list.

And, ya know, Canada used to be our ally until they bailed on the Iraq War. Alaska is surrounded by Canada. So it couldn't hurt to possibly find out what - if anything - she was e-mailing to the Canadians since then. Hacker was just doing his job as a patriotic American if this was the case.

And to call for the prosecution of Hacker is completely irresponsible on Glenn's part. I mean, just like Scooter Libby, this person might have a wife and kids who need him and love him very, very much. It's typical of far-leftists not to be concerned with Hacker's family.

Needless to say, Hacker could also be one of the many keyboard warriors in the War on Terror. Our great country can't stand to lose anymore of those soldiers against Islamoliberalfascimania.

Only $700 billion?

Why not give Mr. Paulsen a trillion to really solve this problem. Or howzabout $2 tril?

Paulsen sounds like a nice, serious man with the neccessary Goldman Sachs background. Those guys are always right, right?

Why Lehman Bros.

Maybe the reason Lehman Brothers was allowed to fail has something to do with this. (via the Wall Street Journal).

CARACAS, Venezuela -- The Venezuelan government, which this week mocked Lehman Brothers Inc.'s woes as a sign of capitalism's imminent demise, could become a victim of the investment bank's failure.

The government of Hugo Chávez holds about $300 million in debt instruments that Lehman had agreed to cash, according to three analysts who calculated the holdings separately. With Lehman in trouble, Venezuela will have a hard time selling the debt.

Glenn hits the trifecta

Your column made me laugh out loud but the two subsequent updates might be the funniest things I've read and seen this election season.

Please tell me those were SNL interviews.

Seriously, if McLame/Fey get more than 25 percent of the vote in November, the nation should be embarrassed.

Shorter Pearlstein:

Thanks to the bloggers and crazy leftists we now have a financial crisis.

He won an award for this kind of analysis, ya' know.
