or something that sounds like that in a sitdown with The Nation this week. Read the interview and it's really unbelievable that this is the leader of the Opposition Party speaking.
Here's a blurb in the middle of a rambling, non-responsive answer in relation to why no Impeachment?
..."So I come into this picture with, they have to know we're here to stay, plus we have to have a predictable future. And I said before the election that impeachment was off the table. Now that means, in the set of facts that we know now the fact of the matter is that in order to impeach the President, you must have the information. Also, the fact of the matter is you don't get any information from these people. The further fact of this is that because of the judges that they appointed, we couldn't get any information about Cheney. So what is the risk-benefit of going down that route rather than saying we want to bring the country together so that we could win and continue to win and elect a Democratic President--absolutely essential--and change the economics of America?"
So in other words, don't blame us. The President & his men aren't helping us. Wait until a new President is elected and then everything will be fine. And besides, it's about the economy, anyway.
The whole interview is revealing. It's quite revealing in the disdain these people (Pelosi, Hoyer, Dem Leadership) have for the basics of a Constitutional government.
...then the case is closed.
Just ask Kit Bond.
Big deal that there are a few dozen still unanswered questions involving the Anthrax Case. This is an election year!
There are haircuts that need investigating and Constitutional amendments in need of elimination.
Now go back to your cheetos and let the big boys -- the FBI, Secret Service and the Washington Post -- put a big bow on this case once and for all.
The latest is that Bruce Ivins was obssessed with Princeton University sorority. That explains why he mailed it from box on college campus?

U. Can't. Be. Serious.
Seven years and this is the best our beloved DOJ can come up with?
After reading David Ignatius' column in full my only response is "I see it, but I don't believe it.''
It's not satire because Ignatius has never displayed a sense of humor much less the ability to write anything intentionally comedic .
The sad fact is this guy is serious.
And GG's list of Congressional capitulation is the Cliff Notes version.
Don't forget about the outstanding Contempt of Congress citations against Meiers and Bolton.
Or the Shumer/Feinstein-led rollover on the Mukaskey nomination.
Or the lost $9 billion in cash that was shipped to Baghdad on pallets.
Or the multiple Blackwater transgressions that have seemingly been swept under the proverbial rug.
Etc., Etc., Etc.
I hope you are writing this contrarian stuff in the designated "free speech zones" mapped out for radicals like you out there in Convention Land.
All this talk about foreign policy and Russia is a real comedown considering there are so many more important things to concentrate on such as: Hillary's wardrobe for tonight, Obama's cute kids, "unity" and Beltway Joe Biden's working class roots in Scranton during the 1950's.
Didn't you get the DNC memo?
There is to be no talk about Iraq/Afghanistan/FISA/Bush within 20 miles of the Convention Center until Friday morning.
How dare Glenn put a damper on the hugging, the "unity" and the hero worshipping at the Mile-High Milquetoast Meeting.
But aren't Obama's kids adorable? And wasn't Michelle's "introduction" to the country splendid? Weren't you impressed by Mark Warner's seriousness?
And how about President Kerry's fiery speech last night?
What's the matter Glenn didn't they let you in at the "Have Your Picture Taken With Steny Hoyer Party"?
Evidently you need to take some of the Kumbaya Kool-Aid from the Kossacks and some of the other Radical DFH bloggers on the scene. According to their hourly dispatches, everything is going swell for the most part.
Thanks to this convention, I learned McCain is an "honorable man", loves his country has several friends on Democratic side of the aisle & was a POW for 5 1/2 years.
Thanks guys. You saved the GOP a lot of time and $$$ next week.
Sounds like those anti-war, anti-gun, 1st, 2nd, 5th, 10th Ammendment-loving troublemakers had it coming.
That'll learn 'em all to choose to live near Minneapolis. especially when it's been advertised for four years the GOPers were heading to town.
Based on this report, it sounds like the Liberty Cops were just doin' their jobs.
In a statement, Sheriff Bob Fletcher said authorities moved to head off planned illegal acts.
“These acts include tactics to blockade and disable delegate buses, breaching venue security and injuring police officers,” Fletcher said.
The bigger the asshole you are and the more retarded you are, the more likely you are to advance in modern day law enforcement.
Here's more:
Walsh, the St. Paul police spokesman, said city officers helped the county carry out a search warrant as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
“We’ve known all along that there are people coming to our city who are not planning to conduct themselves in a lawful manner,” Walsh said. “This is an affirmation of that.”
Yes, the rest of the world is jealous of all our freedoms.
Or worse.
