The truth is that your holier than thou screed is so wrong, so off, so self-congratulatory that it verges on a sermon rather than a comment.

Few here on Salon or in the country wish this young girl harm. Her parents, however, are proven derelict and IMHO cruel and abusive. To make matters worse Sarah Palin is emerging as a lot less than a nice woman from the frozen north. As her story unfolds and she is finally vetted on the Internet we are seeing a narrow minded, hypocritical, tyrannical and dishonest critter who seems to think she is above the law.

As for you Right Wing apologists, why didn’t you stand up for mudslinging and gutter politics when Senator Kerry and his wife were in Karl Rove’s crosshairs? Why don’t you denounce the cruel comments Senator McCain made about Chelsea Clinton when she was only twelve? What about the insult McCain hurled at his own wife?

I said it before; You bought it, you paid for it, and you encouraged it. You’re the ones who allowed the bar to be lowered into the mud. How does it feel?

An open comment to Governor Palin.

You may not have much foreign policy experience (although you can see Russia from an island off Alaska) and you may not have really *visited* Iraq. You may not really understand the economy or what the vice-president’s job is. You may be vindictive and misuse the power of your office. You may have an interest in banning books and of withholding sex education and healthcare for rape victims, and you may have other dicey agendas we’ve yet to learn about. You are definitely a Washington *outsider*.

Except that you seem to fit right in to the Washington establishment when it comes to lying and slinging mud and being sarcastic and putting down real public servants. You seem to fit right in with when the pork is passed around. You seem to be able to negotiate K Street without any problems at all. Has it ever occurred to you that people are sick and tired of this behavior? That a lot of us are sick of the Republican garbage machine and Karl Rove and the others?

You would do the nation a great service by withdrawing from the nomination and returning home to patch together your dysfunctional family. Millions of us would be most grateful.

It’s way past time for McCain to release ALL of his health records. From what I’ve been able to determine his prospects of finishing four years in office are at least questionable. The statistics are not in his favor. His age and various illnesses require scrutiny.

As it is McCain collects almost 60K tax free annually because he is 100% disabled from Vietnam (although he constantly votes against programs for other vets). Exactly what is his disability? Mental or physical? Both? Do we really want a completely disabled president at this juncture in our history? Do we really want to take a chance on Sarah Barracuda who has proved she is clueless and vindictive and a liar (sounds like Bush in lipstick)? Do we want this woman who can’t manage her dysfunctional family appointing Supreme Court justices? We can’t do four more years of this! The country won’t survive as we know it if Sarah Palin (and her puppet-masters take the presidency).

McCain! Man up and show us ALL of your health records. We need to know. This is a lot more important than how many houses you own!!!

Yes, underanother name, Polo326 has all the stripes of a paid troll. I understand that they are paid by the keystroke, but make more if they DO IT ALL IN CAPS! One surefire clue to their trollness is that they can’t spell or punctuate and probably didn’t graduate from high school. Another clue is that they write a lot like rednecks talk. Is it time to privatize Social Security yet? John McSame was just commenting on that a few days ago. His conclusion? Absolutely privatize. Economic fundamentals are sound, he claims. Well, McSame let’s invest in Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, A.I.G, Lehman, Washington Mutual and a few others. The new Secretary of Casino Gambling could hedge our bets by investing half that money on the craps tables in Vegas and Atlantic City. That way, just like the Enron workers the retired in the country will end up at soup kitchens. Way to go GOP!
