Getting Real

I read Cindy’s letter with a good deal of empathy for her. There are a lot of people who have been hurt by this Great Depression II who believed in the American Dream, tried to live it and found out too late that it is an empty bubble (no pun intended). If the banks could do it they would be recycling people’s credit cards (complete with debt) to someone else to pay. Actually, they have. To the taxpayer. I am surprised at the mean comments and harsh judgments written on this thread about someone doing the dirty work.

That said what about the people who simply boarded the bus a few years back and just road it to the last stop? A streetcar named Desire. What about those folks who treated some of these same homes as ATM machines and credit cards like lotto winnings? Conceivably these are the ones who left the biggest messes, the deepest debts and are crying loudest. They are the irresponsible. These are the ones I do not feel sorry for and I’m certain there really is no way for Cindy to sort out one from the other.

In society people have to do the dirty work after others make a mess: war, ambulance driving, police action, emergency room workers, social workers and so on. Without these people shoveling the needles into garbage cans, the rest of us would be living in a landfill of sorrow and distress.

Don’t blame Cindy and Joe for the garbage somebody else walked out on.

Mind your own beeswax!

A conservative should never bring up hypocrisy. Never. This is a classic case of people who live in glass houses shouldn’t.

Letterman is not going around pointing an accusing finger at sinners and adulterers hell-bent on going to hell because they can’t stay out of someone else’s pants or bed.

If the women that Letterman was having affairs with have something on their mind let them say it to him.

It’s not as if he’s anti-gay and then caught tap dancing in a men’s room stall. Or crying out against the fornicators and then caught with a nice little something on the side. The rest of us can mind our own fu**ing business when it comes to private citizens screwing around.

Who Do They Support?

The Republicans are really a laugh a minute. They're saying that the president was nominated after only being in the White House a couple of weeks. Well, get this GOPers! You were blaming the president for the mess you made when he'd only been in office a week. Is it any wonder that the Republican Party is on the endangered species list?

If Limbaugh and the rest are not supporting our president and our country, then who are they supporting? Seems as if they've agreed with the Taliban.

Original article: Are we bipartisan now?

Horray!

Be as snide as you want to be, but I appreciate Senator Snowe. She is what the Republican Party should be.

Thank You

It's about time somebody put a bell on the cat, and so thank you Glenn Greenwald. Mr. Brooks has been hiding out under the skirts of the Gray Lady of publishing for a long time. The Times hires someone like Bill Kristol to do the rant and rave and Brooks ends up in the overview looking kind of rational by comparison. I don’t read Brooks any more because it’s hard to tell which of his faces he’s talking out of.

What's a taxpayer to do?

I couldn’t agree more, but when you consider how many men and women in our government have been bought and paid for by big business and big pharma and big military suppliers there is no surprise. A lot of our congress critters work not for the taxpayers, but for their sponsors.

Why do we maintain bases abroad that are obsolete of their original purpose? If countries like Korea want us to keep a presence than let them foot the bill.

Why do we pay for duplicate military programs without as much as a whimper? Why do we maintain an Air Force that has become fat and lazy when the Army and Navy could do it all and do it better, leaner and more cost effective given the right incentives.

As for Joe Lieberman? If the people of his home state won’t do anything about him, how can the rest of us? For starters he could be stripped of his committees.

HuffPo's Crotch Shots!

Stuffy old me! If I wanted to see real cool porn I wouldn’t bother with HuffPo, I’d just Google the topic of interest; turn on my virus scan and whoopee! Somewhere on the Net somebody is showing everybody doing everything to everybody.

My problem with HuffPo is the hypocrisy. If one writes a comment that uses the word boob or penis it’s scratched and never appears. However, it’s alright for bloggers to use any old thing they want and it’s published without a blush. No, one can’t write penis but HuffPo can spend all kinds of time wondering how much of Levi Johnson is going to show on Playgirl or who fell out of their dress on a red carpet somewhere.

I long for a new lefty site that will let us trash Sarah and Cheney, Anne Coulter and Billy Kristol, John Boehner and Eric Cantor, and the rest of the criminal right wing. I’d also like the new site not to have a photo of a moon crater that takes up the whole screen when I log on. Headlines that weren’t pure hyperbole would be nice.

Anybody know of a site like that?

Too bad for America

Annie Palin is a snapshot of what's wrong with America. Under educated, greedy, superstitious and opportunistic. What's not to love? Thanks John McCain for being so stupid!
