A Big Fat Dope Slap to Big Pharma

All I can say is - this is all so very predictable.

Big Pharma has had the noose around our necks loosened just a bit by these findings....but just you wait - they'll come up with another pill for whatever ails you.

I say: Live by Big Pharma - Die By Big Pharma.

You think they care about how you feel/age?

Not a chance.

YES, I do believe there are women who have very difficult menopausal symptoms.... but what the hell did our grandmothers before us do?

As a DES Daughter I'm sensitized to ANYTHING Big Pharma wants to push down my throat.

Other very good references:

Breast Cancer Action

DES Action USA

Women's Health Network

Take Action.

It isn't always about sex

It ISN'T always about sex. It's about breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, autoimmune diseases, insomnia, hypospadia in men, male menopause, suspicious cancers and passing reproductive disorders genetically down through the generations, among a whole host of other physical disasters.

Synthetic estrogens are causing problems not only for the women taking bc - but for the children (yes, males too) they birth - IF they are able.

And women are NOT to blame. Big Pharma doesn't and won't take responsibility (oh, but they'll have a pill for that - in a minute!~). The science indicating the slow burning and widening disaster in our species and environment is already there:

Heck - think about it - just by virtue of flushing pills down the toilet - you can help eliminate future generations.... because water treatment facilities do not clear the water of pharmaceuticals.

Dump the BCS

I'm with Sam I Am. A whole host of great football schools get overlooked because sports writers can't figure out Mountain Daylight Savings Time to watch the WAC and Mountain West Games.

Or maybe it's past their bedtime.

Congrats and Cheers for the Boise (blue turf/smurf) Broncos!

A Better Choice

Perhaps if she had not coughed up so much money for the accoutrements of the school and the dorm - she could have educated another 150 young women.

I daresay these women will most likely NOT find jobs and live lives IN Africa that will match the riches bestowed upon them now.

And wouldn't it be better for these educated young women to STAY in Africa - and make IT a better place?

It should NOT be about the money.

There already are cities that have Anti-war Memorial Day Ceremonies

There are a number of cities already - that have Anti-War Memorial Day Ceremonies.

Madison, Wisconsin - my hometown - started that practice in the 70's.

IMHO The Best and Worst

Best? ANY Hawaiian airport.... because you're so damn glad to get there and they're so damn glad to see/greet you.

Also. LONG BEACH. Throwback to the 50's as well. No Elvis but reminiscent of the Old Burbank airport. You deplane to the tarmac - walk 50 yards to the terminal - pick up baggage and out the door to the STREET in no less than 10 minutes flat.

MSN. Hometown airport. When it was "Truax Field" it left alot to be desired....but yes, it's classy.

Worst?

Cincinnati...in Kentucky. That having to ride the bus between terminals is terminally stupid.

Milwaukee. After a thunderstorm-delayed flight that was supposed to take me from Cincinnati to MSN.... they dropped us off at Mitchell Field (another wartime throwback) at 9:00 PM - and THE DELTA DESK WAS CLOSED FOR THE EVENING. Needless to say Delta had to pay for CAB FARE for about 25 of us who needed to get to Madison. WTF? And I thought Utah was backwards...

Speaking of SLC: Things have gone seriously downhill since the Olympics. But we'll still welcome you - and take your money.

The Maui Minute....and Chicago

I LIKE that Maui time is slower than mainland rush. You just have to plan your return accordingly.

I used to travel through Chicago O'Hare to get home. Never more.

Do people still (secretly) live in O'Hare airport? I recall seeing what looked like folks camped out underneath stairways there about 30 years ago.... or perhaps Homeland Security has pushed them all out....

Airports less than 30 minutes from downtown.......and San Diego

Name me one major airport near a major city . . .that isn't about 30 minutes from the downtown core?

SLC International. 10 minutes max by the I-80.

But why would you WANT to be in downtown SLC?

Also? MSN. 10 minutes as well....

Another Baddie: San Diego. Planes fly low enough over the hillside homes when preparing to land that you can wave to the passengers.

Someday there's gonna be a nasty crash there.

Nope.

I honestly didn't know about that accident, ralafler.

You'd think they'd change the flight pattern after something like that.

It's truly SCARY when you're driving out of the airport to get to the northbound I-5 - (you have to drive through semi-residential) - and the planes are RIGHT THERE above your head.

Same with Midway. And I do know they had a plane skid onto the street a year ago December.

I'm flying into Midway this August.

GULP!

Quick Drop

I can see why the pilots hate San Diego... It's just a really quick drop to the runway after peaking over the houses on the hillside....instead of a gentle descent.

Damn the MSM

"But as Walter Shapiro notes, a recent CNN poll showed that only 10 percent of New Hampshire Democrats have decided who to vote for; 64 percent have not (an additional 26 percent are listed as "leaning toward someone")."

It's TOO DAMN EARLY to predict a winner.

Keep remembering that.
