@ Lee

We need more Republicans like you, Lee. Thanks for being way more gracious and reasonable than a lot of the fuming posters I've seen on Salon today.

Scariest Thing

You know the scariest thing about Stinky? The thought that he had anything at all to do with air traffic control, as he claims. Good god, it makes me never want to fly again.

Hmmmmm

LondonLad: "He hasn't met a higher standard than other prospective presidents. I've said it before but your brain obviously didn't retain it. The others were obvious white protestant males who produced docs without us knowing because it was never an issue."

OK. Now why, exactly does Obama need to prove things above and beyond our lily white parade of WASPy presidents? Who "obviously" are Real Americans. Hmmm? How exactly is Obama, uh, different from them? What tiny little thing about him makes people want more, and more, and more proof?

And you wonder why people speculate about unconscious xenophobia and racism. You can bleat about being a poor, oppressed voice in the wilderness fighting the evil Obama horde all you want, but you deserve a good ribbing for it.

Arrogance?

"The American People should demand it."

"There we finally have it. The arrogance of self appointed courtier yes man who holds the ordinary citizen in contempt. . . Of course not you're an American, you don't even know how to spell the word."

Oh jeez. You want arrogance? How about a Brit condescending to tell Americans what they need to do in order to please him, a British citizen, that Obama really is a citizen.

Now please, go back to your Worcester crisps, page 3 girls & lad mags and wank yourself silly.

Spanking is a kink?

The LW seems young and curious but perfectly sane to me. I find it hard to believe that some commenters are talking about her as if she wants to strangle puppies while wrapped in tinfoil or something. As far as "kinks" go, it's a very mild one. Be more open minded, people!

@SaltyPappy

A "deer in the headlights?" Which Inauguration ceremony were you watching?! Obama seemed as poised as anyone in his position could possibly be. And unlike with W, his smile is NOT a cocky smirk.

Appreciate that you're not trolling here, but really: "deer in the headlights?" No.

Moore May Seem Grumpy At Times . . .

But boy can he write. His dialogue is spot on, and his gift for creating interplay between what's happening visually on the page and the words being said is a gift that's specifically tailored for comics, not prose or cinema.

Smurf's big "meh" is just plain wrong. Anyone who says all Moore did was take other people's ideas and add sex and violence very clearly hasn't been paying attention and just enjoys being Mr. Contrary.

Remember Pearl Harbor?!

sjpatejak, WTF does Pearl Harbor have to do with GM? Do you still think Gung Ho is cutting edge social commentary? Are we still at war with Japan? You're like one of those legendary Japanese soldiers stuck on a desert island not realizing that the war is over.

The Japanese are coming! The Japanese are coming!
