@what constitution - The Canadian government operates under the quaint premise that it exists for the benefit of Canadians

..not just to benefit the military, police, and corporate interests. Strange that the US, which had a revolution to overthrow tyranny, and Canada, pretty much founded by the losers of the revolution, have so changed from their founding impulse. How did the federal government of the US become predatory on its own people? How did it become such an evil enterprise - motivated by the sins of greed, unjust dominion, deception, and murder?

@zielinski - Which war has the US won recently?

Seriously. For all the treasure piled up in the middle of the jungle and desert and set on fire, for all the dead and maimed, for all the bombs dropped by cowardly sub-human robots, what has it benefited the people?

A war won used to result in booty, shared from the Captains down to the lowest cabin boy. What booty have we gained in Iraq? What booty do we stand to gain from Afghan hillbillies?

No booty - no War!

Booty's what war is for.

Rape and pillage. Only we're the ones being raped and pillaged in this war on the people by the robot armies of the evil empire.

@mick steers - The Canadian War Measures Act was broadly supported, especially in Montreal

I too remember living under martial law - my Dad took my brother and I downtown to see the soldiers patrolling during the "October (1970) crisis"(since in our little suburb our lone policeman continued to keep the peace). Trudeau's imposition of martial law, ironic for a man who had opposed conscription during WW2, was IMHO a necessary cooling down period for a revolution which had gotten violent.

It only took 6 years for the quiet revolution to successfully take power in Quebec with the election of the separatist Parti Quebecois government in 1976. And the secessionist movement was successfully brought within the law and into civil society.

IMHO, and this is something I haven't fully thought through, the problem in these here United States of Amerika is that power is exercised with force, regardless of the nature of the threat - violent or peaceful. All these fascist fucks know is oppressive force. They are the enemies of civil society - and by definition enemies of the rule of law. You can see this in Amerikans' slavish respect for law ENFORCEMENT; but they don't get that this is NOT respect for the law if law enforcement is not held to the same standard as everybody else.

Basically, rule by armed bullies. Bullies should not be police officers! Police officers should not be bullies!

Bully Nation. Projecting its own weakness and insecurity through oppressive force.

Just as the Berlin Wall fell, so will Amerikan lawless fascism in the face of mass disrespect

That's really what it will take - a critical mass of people disobeying unjust dominion. The problem is the 25-30% of the population which is hard-core authoritarian, who will believe what they are told, however ridiculous (WMDS! They hate us for our freedom! Liberal MEdia!), and the corrupt machine that feeds them emotive lies (FAux, CNN, MSNBC).

Free men, organized, can defeat the armed robots of the evil empire.

Anonymity - fake or otherwise

Hiding behind a laptop (filled with righteous zeal)

we spray pseudonymous opinions into the void.

Afraid of what? Consequences? Arrest and torture?

Who likes to be hated? There's plenty to go around.

Washington State Prop 71 foes tried (successfully) to hide their identities and avoid exposure as homo-haters.

It's about enabled irresponsibility, forever juvenile.

The sickness is deep, the reality broken, the replacement unhealthy. Live in this pretend world as the real world dies.

It's Rape by Perverts who Can't Fuck

It used to be that rape and pillage was a natural reward to the victors. A genetic study of Shetland islanders, for example, found that the male line DNA was exclusively from Viking invaders; the female line dna was from the original (invaded) inhabitants. What happened? The victorious invaders killed all the men and boys, took the women and girls, and all the islands' livestock for their own.

This is a biological imperative, inherited, and shared across all living things that reproduce sexually.

I'm not saying that we should do this now - we live in a civil society. However, the systematic repetitive rape of this poor woman by subhuman robots who have destroyed by their own actions their own humanity exposes how sick and twisted our society (as expressed in its legal system) has become. This is official masturbatory porn behavior. Sick perverted robot sex. Disgraceful, disgusting, anti-human. And its EVERYWHERE.

@seanmcbride - You forgot Michael Ledeen = Mussolini admirer

Fucking fascist scum.

As an aside, how come so many neo-fascists are Jews? Inside the belly of the pig, perhaps? Or - if you can't beat them, join them? Or - get them before they get you?

It seems passing strange that many of the remnant of the bloody victims of fascism are now actively embracing the same ideology and methods.

Wow! insulted by Glenn. I will treasure this moment

How about Perle, Wolfowitz, Kristol, Strauss (grandaddy), Feith?

Way disproportionate. It's a serious question - your insulting response, however emotionally understandable, reflects badly on you.

And I'm neither an anti-semite, nor a self-hating Jew.

Nor an imbecile, but on this point I will admit to foolish moments.
