There is a lot more than Dr Bob Altemeyer

I have a long list of relevant discussions on the nature and origins as well as the causes of this pathology at my website http://freedemocrat.blogspot.com/, as well

David Neiwert at Orcinus http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2006/12/eliminationism-in-america-i.html

has several long posts on the subject.

Jane Meyer has written about David Addington, who has been accomplishing what Mansfield is only encouraging, scary as that is http://www.newyorker.com/archive/2006/07/03/060703on_onlineonly01 This reference to the much larger article is all that is still available, about just one person who is very much scarier yet.

Obesity a food value issue not food volume

When food money is stretched, poor Americans try to get as much volume as possible for the money and the only way to do that is to go heavy on starch, Rice, Beans, Potatoes, and cheap noodles, and that causes obesity, and all the attended problems of heart, and Diabetes.

In other times and places it is vegetables and whole grains that feed the poor, but with the move to cities and a processed starch diet obesity rises again, even as diseases of malnutrition also rise.

But that is too much nuance for minds that really couldn't care anyway and any excuse to ignore the plight of others will be jumped on like a frog on a bug.

The Rule of Law is the First "Hair On Fire" Problem

Without the rule of law and the expectation of prosecution there is no other problem able to be fixed, or even anything more than a temporary easing of anger.

With two years of "lets not Impeach" anger has built, and Fascistic powers have built till we are on a knife edge that will lead back to a socialized (as socialized dog) society or fall into an unsocialized morass that in the hallmark of third world countries, and failed states.

Without that socializing force the economic disasters, phony wars, Haditha like massacres, and very much worse is the only possible result. If not this presidency than the next. Because we did not get prosecution of the Iran Contras Crowd, Bill Clinton was not the criminal but he was driven to the ground by impeachment, and Bush two skirted the edge of protofascism.

Obama may not go there but his successor almost definitely will.

The other side of Cheerleading

There are no shortage of blogs and websites devoted to giddy cheerleading and constructing hagiographies for Obama, and those who dislike being exposed to criticisms of Obama will, in just eight short days, have still another ideal website to frequent. By contrast, this won't be a very good place to visit for those seeking that.

I will be keeping an idea on the other two

To keep perspective as well

The true Antisocialist agenda is a failed state Like Somalia

The Socialism Rush fears is not Socialized Russia Socialism but Socialized Child Socialism. His inner two-year-old has never gotten the idea that the universe does not revolve around him.

He equates Feral with free and any attempt to Socialize behavior in the manner that one would Socialize a child, that enables a civil society to operate at all as enslavement and horror. One is reminded of trying to bring a feral dog to live in a home, and the reaction that the dog would have, and how it would behave.

We have examples of Feral Societies, they call them failed states. Trust cannot exist so only brutality can rule. Even the great Bank Failures are failures because trust is destroyed, and that destruction amounts to trillions of real dollars, the proven result of the experiment in Feralism.

The Violence Threat has been Right Wing for Generations

Whether we are talking about the march toward the police state that Bush at the very least laid a lot of groundwork for, or the blow up buildings, start a war, attacking puffed up "enemies", crazies on the ground, from Bin Lauden to McVeigh they all pose very similar policy preferences from Misogyny to Eliminationism, Theocracy, to Eristocracy (rule by discord) all are Right Wing Authoritarians.

You might find Left wing rebels with guns in vanishing few places around the world, but inside the United States the FBI was reduced to infiltrating Quaker Pacifists, and Nunneries looking for left wing "terrorists". Finding even majority opposition, but not the ultra violence that is the hallmark of the far right.

Even in the '70's when there was a small violent Left they were largely shunned by the folks they claimed as friends, unlike the case with the right wing.

Just plain old racism

While epithets are no longer in vogue(though coming back for some) the picture firmly in the mind the mind of their base has a distinctly dark complexion. Speak the words undeserving or handout and like a Pavlovian dog the image honed by years of propaganda leaps instantly to their mind along with fear and outrage.

They have no complaints with taxpayer money being handed out in airplane loads, or even single payer health care as long as it is in Europe where they imagine none of "those people" live.

The Republicans took the Elephant as a totem to announce that they hated those Crazy Racists that were the old Southern Democrats. Now they have not only forgotten why they picked that totem but have now become what they once so fervently opposed.
