  • Ana - that is right

Interesting point - I'd respond that black Americans voting for a black candidate is a unique circumstance (and different from whites voting for a white given the nation's history). Much like Catholics coming out for JFK. So the fact that this is the first black candidate with a shot at winning does buck the trend. Same with women and Hillary, as you note.

But as for the point on Hispanics, I think I'm right. In terms of Hispanic media you are citing the mass-market Spanish-language networks and publications. If you look tactically you'll find that Spanish media in a given market is skewed to its population, and will vary based on the country of origin. A Spanish newspaper in LA will have more Mexican news. A Spanish newspaper in NY will have little Mexican content, and more Puerto Rican skew. Miami will be Cuban. There may be more than one in a market. All of these blocks have their own POV and interests. No better example than FL Cubans, who are upscale educated Republicans. Contrast that with NYC Puerto Ricans, who vote Democrat.

I do remember those protests. But I also remember that Philadelphia and Boston and many other large metros saw minimal protests from Hispanics. NY, LA, CHI, PHO saw larger ones because of the situation of that specific geography. These protests were locally coordinated, harnessing the passions and fears of local populations based on conditions there at the time. One group felt like they were gonna be deported, the other felt nothing for 'the cause'. There is not the kind of 'pan Hispanic' movement, as the populations remain too fragmented. Just as there is not much of a "Pan Asian" movement among Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese - although that is more apparent due to differences in language. The fact Hispanics share the same language - and thus gravitate to the same media - is not really an indicator that there is a larger movement afoot.

Other than looking at the older population segments of mainland Puerto Ricans, I don't see how one could draw anything from the islander vote.

We're done. You had your chance to stand up and be a tough guy in many exchanges we've had. But you run and hide every time, never offering up anything of substance. So why should I bother? Goodbye.

And when, after 4 hours of posting for McCain, you get your $20 check - be sure to get tha vaccine for Feline HIV. Because I hope you do get Cat AIDS.

    Clown.

Once this is debunked something else will be made up to replace it. Then that gets debunked and we go to plan C. On and on. The point of these scandals is that they NEVER get resolved by design. Hence, these things linger.

That is game, stop playing it with them. That is why 42% of Americans believe Saddam was behind 9-11 and 11% think Bush was. They are hopeless.

  • So, Ana...

If he had stayed in the Church you'd be applauding him for taking a stand for principle?

Or does he lose no matter what he does?

  • Very unliely it is Obama

[Read the article: Clinton camp denies report of planned staff cuts]

Since every time the issue is raised Hillary gets to reinforce the ONLY campaign message she has had out there since the failed Gas Tax Holiday - "Don't push me out or disrepect my peeps, this is over when I say it is".

So, isn't it more plausible that it is Hillary's people? Since she gains and he loses every time this issue comes up? Almost like the GOP with terrorism.

Obama has moved on, I'm sorry to say but he has not been competing with Hillary since IN and NC weeks ago.

  • Ana, your point is dishonest

Because you slammed him when he stuck with the church and now you slam him when he leaves it. So, he can't win with you on this.

That's what makes it dishonest. Feel however you want, that's fine with me.

But I sat in a Catholic Church and HS that, if every class and sermon was dissected, would bar me from everfy serving as President. We had priests say that AIDS was God's punishment for gays. And I did not get up from class at any point in the 4 years. I sat with priests talking about how we should support the IRA in their terror campaign against the Brits in the 1980's.

So I happen to believe that 100% of everyone who has anything to do with religion listened to a lot of crazy shit every week of their life. Did you ever read the Bible? That thing is a monument to sexism, racism, anti-semiticism. It's really somethin'!

But the party establishment was behind Hillary, still is for the most part as her SD's have not deserted her out of fear / loyalty. Almost every heavy-hitter they had actively campaigned for her. Supporting Obama as a Super Delegate at the start was seen as career suicide. So how is Obama the insider or establishment choice? The "country club"?

Also, I like Ron Paul and a lot of what that guy said about the weak dollar is now coming back to haunt Americans with $4+ gas prices. I think he is an important voice in America since the GOP threw libertarians away.

But Clinton is his polar opposite, can't work.

"Month to month" or "year to year"? Seems like they always take the summer off and then come back hard for Ramadan. But since we bought off everyone - Sunni and Shiite alike - the results should be good.

But it does not even matter. McCain will claim it is good. If it gets worse, the GOP talking point will be that the ter'rist evildoers are tryiong to make us vote for Obama.

Oh, and as part of that get ready for the standard fake-terror alerts this summer and fall. Part of the GOP scare tactics for which these alerts were invented. I just hope the intern at the Dept of Homeland Defense does not hit my city with the dart when he throws it at the map.
