Original article: Mommy, what's a vagina?

julie bird

Appreciate the suggestions - if you indulge me for a sec -

1. Because it's a special thing you do with yourself.

WHY? and btw not true for life - only till around 17 I hope

2.Because it concerns the private parts of your body, which should be kept private.

She is smart - she knows this isnt an answer (just restating the original point - she got me on this one

3. Because it's best done naked, and one shouldn't be naked in a public space.

Really - I'm not generally naked when I do it - and she certainly isnt - and I'm not going to suggest it either : )

4. Because it is impolite to do that where other people can watch.

WHY? - I am afraid any answer will make her associate it with shame.

5. If all else fails, "Because that's the rule" or "Because I said so" is sometimes the best explanation.

Yes, the old standby - dont answer - which is what I did - but lets be honest - thats not an answer either.

But WHY???? terrifying question

In line with an earlier post about kids not comprehending why only genitalia are private....

My 5yr old was told that it is fine to 'touch' herself since it feels good but it something that is private and if she wants too she has to go to her room......then she asked "Why?" - Why what I replied - "Why is it private" - she sort of stumped me there -

anyone got a suggestions? (not younservative)

Heller

My son will live in the U.S. not Europe - I agree if he was in Europe my reasoning might not hold up. But since we are Americans, and more American women prefer (as in are not afraid of) circumcised, then I'm going to give my son the dick that will get him laid the easiest...simple as that.

Curiosity wont make up for lost opportunities

-- BabyGrumpusGotBack-

Sorry but while (sometimes) young people want to experiment with something out-of-the-ordinary, the reality is that women (especially young inexperienced ones) are LESS likely to go for something they perceive as out of the ordinary - I dont know how old you are, or the crowd you run with, but the number of women who will be with you BECAUSE of your foreskin is far far out numbered by the number that wont. (have no idea about gays)

if your son wants women, in 2009 America - it will be easier for him to get them with NO foreskin - sorry - you may not like it (and many may not care) but it is true.

Help your Son where it counts

All you people are missing the thing that will be most important to your son when he gets older....how hard will it be to get laid (or a BJ).

Anyone who remembers what it is like from 16 until you get married (and sometimes even later), remembers that it is hard enough to get sex from women without additional "barriers" in your way.

No women will NOT be with you b/c you are circumcised but a sizable percentage of women who WILL be reluctant to be with you (or at least give you a BJ) if you are not circumcised.

Circumcision may have been invented to reduce sex (who knows) but in 2009 America, it HELPS you get sex (or at least removes one bump you might otherwise face)

I dont know which way feels better but if I have a son, who laters questions my decision to Circumsize, I'll ask him if he's ever been with a women who might have been reluctant to suck his uncircumcised dick - his answer in the affirmative (which will be inevitable at some point) will prove the wisdom of my decision.

Author is an idiot

Pitbulls arent bred for "violence" - if they are bred for anything it is to fight other dogs - thats it....Bruno wasnt fighting destiny or breeding by being a good companion - that WAS his destiny - loyalty, perseverence and love of humans are all there "destiny".

All you anti-SUV nuts

Most of you are saying that he should have bought a minivan or a wagon so:

please name 3 alternative non-compact (ie. Scion, Vibe etc...) sized minivan or wagon that gets significantly better milage and weighs significantly less then this Mitsu "SUV" and when you can't:

please explain again why (environmentally) he shouldn't have bought this vehicle.

jgs - re:charcoal

Both propane and gas are sequestered carbon - its just a matter of how long you are willing to wait for them to form (ie. charcoal takes the lifetime of a tree and gas could take millennium)....

Therefore burning either is simply a matter of "returning carbon back to the atmosphere" -

but since the current problem is too much being released against a slower natural sequestration rate resulting in rising greenhouse gasses - both are environmentally negative (ie. not neutral)

Then when you consider the relative inefficiency of charcoal to gas burning, the huge expense of preparing and transporting charcoal vs gas and the huge amount of additional pollutants that charcoal produces vs. gas and you quickly realize that the enviromentalist should be gas grilling (or not grilling) - vegetables only - if you want to have any credibility.

But that being said - 99% of this stuff is pure nonsense anyway - if current models are to be believed - the difference of 10 yearly bbq of charcoal vs gas or a 25mpg SUV vs a 27mpg wagon wont make even the slightest difference.

You want to make a singular and meaningful difference? take mass transit to work everyday and live in an apartment (with scaled heating/AC) vs a private house. Everything else is mostly so small as to be meaningless
