Dear DNC

If you're listening, please consider this a request to play the same in Texas. Dear Guv Goodhair is more interested in his campaign contributions than the welfare of the citizenry.

@ red_gti2000

I find it interesting you were the first to respond to the troll bait.

Friday, March 13, 2009 09:18 AM

why so many trolls here?

We saw real journalism yesterday. So sad we must rely on a self-proclaimed snake oil salesman to provide a draught of truth. Where have all the real journalists gone? Oh yeah, St Ronnie of the Raygun allowed corporations to buy then convert news businesses into propaganda machines.

Is that the answer? Or do the trolls come here to reflexively argue against those whom they have received their marching orders to attack?

Trolls, can you answer that?

Original article: Stick it in your earmark

gov't 101

It it the responsibility of The Congress to legislate*. Legislating includes spending money. Spending money includes earmarks, and perhaps micromanaging the budget.

*for the monosyllabic, "legislate" means "to make laws"

If only our congresscritters would learn something from this

... about how the little people must endure what they do not, and then use it improve the lives of all Americans.

Haha, not a chance. But I still dream.

Talk about "taking one for the team".

"I'll start with the fact that the market closes at 4pm, not 4:30pm. Seriously, how do you get that one wrong?"

Shit, he watched CNBC all day long. I'm surprised he could even type.

Tom Tomorrow redux

Tom Tomorrow said it best many moons ago (sorry, no link).

The real story here is that we are reduced to searching for the truth from a *comedian*, because we can't rely on the "news", et al.

It isn't trees, it isn't gas, it isn't labor. Traditional news media are dying because they have forsaken their raison d'ĂȘtre in search of the corporate dream of world domination. Fuck'em all.

Why don't you just go back to those reasonable, understanding people on the other side

and share a nice cry over a cup of tea. You can commiserate about how those mean ol' libruls won't tolerate any more of your disingenuous bullshit.

For a moment, I'm going to pretend that Retrogal is sincerely seeking enlightenment

The short answer to your alleged naivete is once again found in the wit and wisdom of Dear Leader. "Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, you can't get fooled again, hehe."

How many times should we allow "Conservatives" to sucker punch us before we stop trusting them?

Allow this registered independent to anwer that for you, step by step.

"If you had bothered to read my letters, ..."

I haven't read your letters outside of this thread.

"...you will find that I said both sides can be equally intolerant."

Even if it were true - and it's not - it's an irrelevant statement without considering why the factions are acting the way they do.

"I can't figure out why, when someone bothers to point out that hey, maybe we should try and look at the other's viewpoint (and I DO NOT mean AGREE with the other's viewpoint) and be more civil about it, that people call me a "troll" and my statements useless."

We, as liberals, have tried to tolerate the "Conservative" viewpoint. The result? Torture, illegal wars, subverting the Constitution, looting the treasury, cronyism, to name a few. Consider it a compliment that you're called a troll. The alternative is that you can't see the truth, which strongly suggests that you're too stupid to breathe. So which is it, are you on a respirator or are you ConcernTroll?

"And what is so darn wrong about trying to be objective (fairminded), look at the facts on an issue, and then make your decision on where to stand on that issue based on the information? And (horrors), actually be CIVIL toward another person who doesn't agree with your viewpoint?"

Yeah, we've covered that. Sucker punched too many times. It's time for the other side to pony up. Are they being fair minded? Are they being civil? Are they trying to understand "our" side?

Understand now?

sorry retrogal, no tolerance for the evildoers from this 'liberal'

Even Jesus had his limits. The Thugs have buggered this country in so many ways. Despite that, I might be convinced to show them some consideration if there were any chance of redemption. The sad fact is when a "Liberal" shows any tolerance or compassion, "Conservatives" simply interpret that as weakness. So go troll your 'liberals aren't being fair' concerns at NRO, Red State, LGF, or wherever where they're 'more tolerant than we'd expect' and dazzle them with your fairminded useless comparative statements.

"Why are you so angry?"

"Elections have consequences."

"You're either with us or with the terr'rists."

"Why do you hate our freedoms?"

.

Tell me, do any of these sound vaguely familiar, as articulated by Dear Leader or his team of enablers?

Reap now what you have sown. Whiner.

@ Joan .. Bible Spice <> sacrificial lamb

Ace wanted Smokin' Joe as his trusty sidekick and personal fellator. The powers that be in the GOP don't trust Ace, so insisted on Bible Spice. To them, Dan-Quayle-with-a-ponytail was the redeeming half of the GOP ticket.

She exemplifies the one definining trait of the modern "Conservative", a sense of unbounded, unjustified self-entitlement.

She actively, cleverly, courted the appointment. When you show mercy to such as these, you fail to effectively communicate to them the magnitude of their failure.

As for that mythical "liberal Rush", it would be an angry dyke Lampanelli with a mustache but not joking when saying those awful things. In other words, there is no such animal. Rush is a product of the "Conservative" mindset.

St Reagan started it, news monopolies finished it.

These businesses committed suicide, by allowing TV companies to own newspapers, by allowing one newspaper to own another, by reducing competition. Newspapers sold themselves to highest bidders, to companies that saw newspapers as part of a marketing strategy.

Here's the equation for the number crunching wizards of Wall St.: zero original content equals zero reasons to be in business.

People moved to on-line consumption because newspapers failed to perform the primary duty of a newspaper, reporting the news. That's the real story here.
