@ Ellis Diablo

Last year the country was presented a choice between a charismatic Chicago suit and the Ace/BibleSpice ticket. The latter promised to continue the evil perpetrated by BushCo. The former promised change, and change is what this country chose.

Are we getting our money's worth, is it happening fast enough? Not in my opinion.

Why? At least one reason is the "right" doesn't want that change, and are doing, apparently literally, everything they can think of to stop Obama and the Dems.

Is Obama perfect? No. Are the Dems perfect? No. Are they collectively a better choice than the GOP? Without question.

What are you doing to undo the evil perpetrated in our name by BushCo?

By the way, how dare you critize our Commander-in-Chief during this time of war. Traitor!

ST communicators vs modern cell phones

I'm not a Trekkie, but as I recall the communicators that Kirk and Spock used on the original series were about the same form factor as a late 1990's flip phone. And about as useful too.

ST communicators, as depicted in the shows, don't need cell towers.

trolls? we're soaking in them!

Damn! Reich must have hit a nerve, the idjits are out in force arguing it just ain't true.

Fear not trolls. Just because I was only able to read a couple of paragraphs due to Salon's stupidity fabulous revamp, doesn't mean the flavor isn't lost.

Bottom line - if you want fiscally sound government policy and/or real economic growth, hire a Liberal. (FYI, Obama doesn't qualify. He's too conservative.)

What *really* matters

... Seal (His wife said that when she saw him in biking shorts it was all over but the wedding) and Daniel Craig's speedo in his first bond film.

hmmm, not sure how worried I should be. What's her cup size?

Why didn't you post this before Halloween?

the GOP does attract some females

There's a certain flavor of female that (apparently) likes subsurvience. I've spoken with some that are in full agreement with the GOP agenda.

I disagree with them on just about everything, and really don't understand how they apparently work against their own interests. It's a curious thing, and to fully understand what's going on, they shouldn't be ignored or discounted.

p.s. to all you republicant trolls, please fuck off.

to salon

I think that being able to read this article in it's entirity would have been a good thing.

maybe it's the new design

are even the contributors are getting locked out of the content?

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 04:44 PM

@ pacificwhim

Maybe not. But Obama's flip-flop betrayal on FISA certainly should have.

15-20, or 15K-20K? guess it depends on who's running the cameras

As noted by The Swan, Faux News is hardly a reliable source for a body count.

Original article: Stupak-Pitts is a bad joke

"hard cases make bad law", but ...

not as bad as the laws Republicans and CONservatives make.

Why is it that people purporting to care about the unborn suddenly lose interest once it actually becomes a person?

But I digress; back on topic:

Not providing a full field of health care options to women, including abortion services, is the worst thing one could do.

Reid "whew!"

He must be sweating bullets, worrying about how he won't have to bow to his GOP overlords and their theoretical filibusters.

liberals and progressives abandon Texas at their own peril

Texas provided and continues to provide the country with numerous blessings despite the conservative nature of the beast. Letting the GOP run roughshod over the state imperils the country at large (eg Shrub), not to mention the demoralizing effect it has. Silence is so often misconstrued as agreement.

@ bigguns

Shame? Maybe, for some. For most, it's denial from fear, fear of ending up exactly the same way.

Poverty is the new leprosy.

hey zork

it would be nice if somebody somewhere would stand up for rights, even you

Monday, November 30, 2009 02:13 PM

@ squaresville

Not sure if flinging poo at the Constitution is the same as, better, or worse than the previous occupant, who wiped his ass with it, set it on fire, and then did a smug happy-dance.

Talk about your slippery slopes.

What percentage of these sales are bulk? Surely if you can report gross sales, you can find a few details, no?

Original article: The trial of Ben Bernanke

"unscarred"

So the reality of today's government is that to get a plum political job in the US govt -regardless of qualifications- one must survive a college-style hazing? As a reward, one then receives a get-out-of-jail free card accompanying an invitation to direct the vast resources at hand to do whatever the fuck you want.

What's the purpose of Congress(ional hearings) again?

Thursday, December 3, 2009 09:29 PM

is R^2 a jackass or a 'tard?

No one should be offended, I'm just asking questions.

Friday, December 4, 2009 04:26 PM

I can name a few

For now I'll stick with easily recognized names:

Krugman

Clinton (either)

Edwards

I remain unconvinced of the Obama-as-Jedi Master assertions. Maybe so far, he's simply exhibited a combination of shrewd opportunism frosted with luck. Maybe he's an empty suit with some street smarts or maybe he's a corporate marionette, St Ronnie of the Raygun with "D" behind his name. Maybe he's the second coming of Jeezus Christ.

The trouble with hiring someone lacking a work history is that you have very little from which to judge one's qualifications. However, until the conservative "right" starts taking governing seriously, *and* putting forth serious candidates, the bullride will continue.

How many people today can say they have a job because of Shrub (besides Obama of course)?
