"The sharp retort couldn't come at a worse time for the White House."
On the contrary: As concerns the rule of law over the rule of lie, it couldn't happen at a better time -- unless it had happened before the war crime of torture was authorized and implemented and facilitated by this gang of sadists called the "Bush administration".
It's about time the Congress -- thanks to the Democrats -- have kicked that sick b*st*rd in the teeth. (Take your pick: Bush, et al.)
Come September, when the Republicans remember they'll be facing re-election with a record lack of funds, and fall all over themselves to cross the line from supporting Bush, et al., we'll finally see some rule of law and reality shoved down his arrogant face.
