Well a lot of people saw it coming

So what. A lot of people looked up from the railing of the Titanic and saw ice.

True but

It will just get grubbier, crappier, more broken down. We're running out of money, patience, talent, drive, interest, skills. And even when Lord Saint Obama the First is made President, the ship of state as it were is still rudderless, careening into whatever random obstacles are there. The rich can isolate themselves from it, the middle class is being obliterated and the poor..well who gives a shit about them? All the while Whispering Harry Reid and his Congress of Retards is busy working 70 days a year and furiously looking into sports doping.

I have something better than inner peace; it's the death of hope.

So she's the anti-Bush

Bush awards loyalty beyond all reasonable measure - elevating the most insanely stupid people to the highest offices merely on the the degree of their fealty to him. McPalin is more like the Erica Kane of politics.

It must have made your head explode

To refrain from writing 'something something something evil fucking Jews who secretly control America etc something something...'

An Tom, I'm not a survivalist. I'm hoping a giant meteor wipes us ALL out.

Nice people aren't ruthless

There's your first problem. You can save the furry whales from domestic violence and global warming. But they're not real good about paying the bills. To be successful you in part have to not give a shit about who gets hurt.

this is what I hate about the internet

It takes every stupid local crackpot annual event and turns it into some vast sociological statement. No. It's just a lame local event. For god's sake it sounds like a Garrison Keillor joke.

McPalin an angry manipulative mercenary opportunist? You must be kidding.

Gee and here I though John McRoadrage was Buddha reincarnate. I just don't see the match up between those two, do you?

But on a serious note. Palin is a bitch. And that's actually her appeal. She's the inner bitch in every PTA fundraiser, every church board member, every HOA attendee who wants what she wants and she will have the cops kill your fucking dog to get it.

Do you know the difference between a 'hockey mom' and a sociopath?????? It's a trick question....

Let's decode that

"Undecided" = uninterested, too busy drinking right now

"Independent" = haven't yet found that magic mix of hate and bigotry that truly appeals.

2004 laid out in stark contrast that if, after the prior 4 years of Bush the election was still close with a sizable 'undecided' and 'independent' then democracy is largely a meaningless construct apart from the mechanics of running an endless campaign and voting for someone, anyone.

Whoever wins, America is finished and they will probably represent the last Presidential election that anyone cares about to foist any sort of governance upon us. After this, they can pick the President from a vending machine or a reality TV show. And it's not that the candidates don't matter, or are the same or interchangeable. It's that WE don't matter any more. We're the problem. We don't care about anything, nothing of substance matters and everyone will spend all their energies blathering about bellwether issues that don't actually mean anything like guns and prayer and abortion and all the other nonsense that will never change no matter what.

Monday, September 22, 2008 08:46 PM

Oh I'm sure all sorts of new regulations will do that trick

Just like SOX, GLBA, and all the other compliance regs erected or enforced with a vengeance since Enron. We've spent billions of dollars on compliance activities and audits since then and everything worked out fine so I'm sure a bevy of new laws will be just the thing we need.

thank god for Sarbanes Oxley

What with that dismal Enron crash. Thank god we have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in 'audit compliance' to make sure nothing hinkey happens again.

human power

You're right. Lets empty the cities and force all the people to farm by hand. That'll skinny them down. It worked for Pol Pot.

Monday, September 22, 2008 02:28 PM

Well as long as you plan spending the next 4 years fighting an impeachment

Cmon everyone knows that's what will happen from day one.

Monday, September 22, 2008 01:30 PM

As if theres' something wrong with genocide and murdering children in public

Cmon people, there's a script. Stick with it.

Monday, September 22, 2008 01:28 PM

Awesome, Chillydog

Fuck those motherfucking Kike motherfuckers and their magic mountains of money.

Monday, September 22, 2008 12:11 PM

You haven't been paying attention

This is classic Bushonomics. They will 'buy' the bad assets. What that means is that they will create a bevvy of new quasi private entities and cherry pick the good assets and privatize them while keeping all the real worthless junk on the public funding's books.

This is straight up privatization of everything not nailed down that's worth stealing. What will be left is a new class of asset management firms to replace all the investment banks that went under. And the government e.g. you and me, will left holding the bag to pay for it, AND, pay to carry all the worthless scrap in fiduciary holding companies on the governments own ledgers. If I were Bush's accountant, I'd toss all that crap into the Social Security fund and bankrupt it once and for all, leaving space for a new privatization of SSI and Medicare.

Look it really doesn't matter

This is electioneering. No one has any intention of doing anything about this other than the obligatory opening of the coffers to pay for it. There will be no new nothing. And in a year or two whether Obama or McPalin is in charge there will be a fight to cut taxes for millionaires. Haven't any of you been awake the last 30 years?
