[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is just another step to complete totalitarianism. The Patriot Act, Real ID, Military Commissions, and now the Pending HR 1955/SB 1959 which I am *sure* will pass, is the death knell for dissent.
Obviously we all have to raise the volume on our dissent.
I am a Libertarian and I do believe that the next administration will not be any better than this one. Different, yes, but not better.
All these powers in the hands of Clinton or Obama are not in better hands. The thing is, human beings *all* have their ideas of how everything should be. I have mine and you have yours.
No one person, nor any group of people should have this much power. Don't think for one minute they will give up this power. They may *swear* that this is for "emergency" use only (as the Bush administration does), but what constitutes an emergency? Who will decide that?
I would like to think that Ron Paul, who voted in Congress against all this (sometimes was one of 5 or 6 who did), or a Libertarian, would work to dismantle it. That is our only hope now, and not a very strong hope.
We the people are going to have to dig our heels in, and make up our minds to go on speaking out...shouting in the streets...when it hits the fan, and it will.
People are not protesting like they should be. I may be old-fashioned, but another '60's style "youth" (all ages!) movement would be good for the country.
