[Read more letters about this article: Here]I can't imagine why the Democratic majority in congress couldn't have refused to confirm this Gonzo II nominee, just like they've, up until just recently,(and then only partially), began to show a willingness to refuse this Criminal President his every request for the continuation of Illegal War and Occupation funding, as well as Constitutional Asswiping projects, of which he,(and his controlling base), is most fond.
Until our congress decides to do it's sworn duty to uphold the rule of law and our constitution, nothing will change in this Criminal Control of our Nation. Then we'll all hope we don't get, "Here's to the new boss, same as the old boss"....

FOR MANY, IT'S ALREADY HERE

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm a service technician, repairing equipment used by other businesses. I called in this morning, and was told it's going to be another day off. There were no calls on Monday, but yesterday, I worked 7 hours, and was sure this was the turn around, the day when things got back to normal, 40+ hours, like they've been for over 30 years without fail.
The sun climbs into the clear blue sky, mid 80's again today I'm told. I haven't had 40 hours in over 8 months now, and old timers said they've never seen it this bad. I've cut back on everything, and it seems there isn't much left to cut.
I pick up my fishing rod and gear bag, and head a couple blocks to the bridge, one of three onto my little island home in the Gulf. I'm glad my kids are grown, I couldn't feed and clothe them now. Young families must be frantic.
The bait hardly makes a splash as it enters the clear, blue water. Pelicans cheer me on from their perch nearby, dreaming of scraps and small fry.
I scan the area under the bridge, looking for any inviting crevices, wondering if I'll soon be calling it home.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wouldn't allow my children to attend a church camp, anymore than I'd allow them to attend Hitler Youth camp. I remember going to these camps as a child, and feeling very uncomfortable and pressured when they'd gather around the campfire at night to "witness" about when they were "saved", and how swell it all was since, and how if we hadn't yet heeded the call of a "personal relationship" with Jeebus, how it was high time we did.
There are many other summer camps available, and they don't require your kids to pledge an oath to follow some delusionary and exclusionary teachings for the rest of their lives as part of the experience.
Camps that highlight brainwashing as the centerpiece of their program, should be avoided no differently than any other harmful communicable disease.

The fact the new AG has taken up where the lying Gonzo left off, should garner no more than a yawn from those of us who begged for attention pre 2000 election.
Until the Democratic Controlled Congress, for which so many of us held undeserved hope, can muster some semblance of spine and sense of duty to Nation, Constitution, and Rule of Law, and start Impeachment and Crimes Trials against these most Treasonous of Government Officials, not only will nothing change, but they will continue to grow worse, under the guise of "change", that the Democrats hope we'll focus on.
The guilty here not only include perps like Bush and Cheney and their toadies, but cowards like Pelosi and Reed. I think maybe they are worse than the Criminals they refuse to prosecute.
