This is when the Obama scorched-earth-policy chickens come home to roost. Ain't no taking back all these months of base attacks on Hillary by Obama, his campaign

ummmmmm what in god's name are you talking about??? No really, do you have examples of this "scorched-earth policy" and rampant sexism from Obama? I'm wracking my brain for any incident that could possibly be construed as sexist emanating from Obama and I'm stumped.

You don't mean the phantom finger do you? Surely you jest...after all you're one of the ones who insists the Jesse Jackson comment was completely innocent aren't you?

Seriously, provide some examples or tell me the name of your dealer...'cause kiddo, I want whatever you're smoking!

Obama has won Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Georgia, Hawai'i, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

by a combined total of 776 points!

    SO there!

    nyah nyah nyah!!

(you do see how absurd your argument is don't you?)

By that logic it's also "embarassing" that Clinton hasn't been able to expand on her base one smidge.

Why hasn't the better candidate (in your opinion) not been able to expand her base, and instead has only been able to staunch the flow of support by flinging the proverbial kitchen sink at her fellow democrat (let me repeat that: Fellow. Democrat.)

I guess it means we're doomed no matter who gets the nod aren't we?

Might as well take our t-ball and go home I guess.

darn...just when I was getting excited about American politics again...ho hum.

  • A few thoughts about last night

[Read the article: A split Democratic decision]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    1) I missed the Robert Goulet...erm I mean Castellanos bit on CNN, but jeebus...how awful can one person get? After implying that Obama will have Ayers and Wright in his Cabinet he then defends calling Clinton a b*tch??

    What a slimebag.

    2) I found the exchange between Gergen and Begala fascinating. Gergen looked and sounded genuinely upset that there are some bigots voting for Clinton (not the majority most likely...but likely a sizeable number). When he said she should denounce those votes it really looked like it came from a real place inside him. Begala on the other hand (whom I still respect) basically said "whaddya gonna do? She needs those votes"...I guess it actually is easier to be principled when you're in the lead, but it's a depressing thing to hear from one of ours.

    3) I'm pretty sure that if I ever have to relocate - Oregon will be my first choice! How awesome does that place sound??

    cheers

Actually I don't think you're all that off-base, but let's keep it classy eh?

p.s. I honestly have been enjoying your contributions here of late.

Clinton's cozy relationship with certain journalists *cough*Blumenthal*cough*cough* leave no reason for concern....just ask Conason.

Funny, Oregon had a huge gender gap. Obama won male voters in Oregon by 31%, but nobody on TV is calling those men sexist, or asking Obama to condemn his own voters for supporting him.

Funny, I didn't hear of any exit polling where 20% of Obama's voters in Oregon said they had a problem with gender, did you?

but sure, keep on bobbing and weaving. Whatever floats yer boat!

    cheers!

I know you're not accustomed to your guy getting criticized but he'd better get used to it. He has had smooth sailing from a press corp that have had a crush on him and like you, they overlook all of his failings.

You sure about that? Really?? 'Cause after "WrightGate" ver. 1.0 & 2.0, "Bittergate", "Flagpin Gate", "AyersGate" and countless other tempests in various teapots I gotta tell ya, if the press corp has a crush on him, then they certainly show it in a weird way...sounds more like an abusive relationship than anything ;)

Hey, remember the good ol' days when the worst we had to deal with was "Obama plagariazed a line in a speech!"

man, I miss those days...they were so innocent.

    *cue the Don Henley*

again, I don't think that your line of questioning is entirely off-base. In fact as soon as she uttered those words about "choosing your family" I thought the same thing you did.

but let's keep the language a bit more Family rated, and save the blue stuff for the late show, k?

    cheers!

that famous quote by Mark Arm's (from Mudhoney) quote about Courtney Love:

"I don't want to talk about Courtney, let's not talk about Courtney. 'Cause talk about her or don't talk about her, it doesn't matter...'cause she just won't go away."

In honour of fair play, may I suggest Clinton supporters come up with something comparing Obama to the borg of Star Trek??

then we'd have all the nerd bases covered!

Thanks for the clarification re: stutter stepping.

As soon as I saw that I was also thinking "hey...I think that's not allowed!"

I don't follow the European leagues all that closely (especially since Southampton got relegated...I used to read the tables weekly to make sure they lost. It's a long story involving a lout trying to steal my girlfriend in college and me being a petty, petty, petty man ;) and I wasn't aware that the rules had changed...

do we know if this is a FIFA wide rule change or just in Europe?

also, it surely looked like less of a "stutter step" and more like a "full-blown stop"...but that's just me. I'm sure Ronaldo fans saw something entirely different

    cheers!

for the first time in forever I find myself agreeing with all sides of this debate!

Quite frankly I don't know if it's brilliant or suicidal...but it certainly is interesting to ponder no?
