Hey Mickey...
[Read the article: Obama and Clinton fizzle in Philly]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A question for our resident Inquisitor: Should every Catholic politician leave the Church or resign their position? Wouldn't you say that the sexual abuse of young children and the subsequent cover-up is FAR more egregious than a few fiery sermons? Nah, of course not...better to get all riled up about the "angry" black guy right?
(moron)
(as an aside: is anybody else getting sick and fucking tired of all these Republican trolls who pretend to be Clinton supporters clogging up this site? It's really starting to grate)

@Texas Democrat
[Read the article: Obama and Clinton fizzle in Philly]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm sorry...can you remind me who is running for President, is it Obama or Wright??
(painfully moronic)

@concernedcitizen1954
[Read the article: The fallout from the Democratic debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]FYI
Michigan has a population of 9.9 million. Just under 600,000 people participated in the Democratic Primary.
there is absolutely no way you can claim that it is indicative of the will of the people...that's what? 7% of the population? Yep...clearly the people spoke on that wintry day!
sorry.

Holy Hell
[Read the article: The haunting of the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey Joan,
Where you been hiding this treasure O'Hehir?? My god, outside of Kamiya he's easily the best wordsmith you got here (I remember reading his soccer missives with relish...I mean with "joy" not "green condiment ;).
This was a great piece, top notch stuff that appeals directly to the history nerd in me.
cheers!

@grp00
[Read the article: The haunting of the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]quoth O'Hehir:
"I won't bore you with my personal theory as to whether the liberal reformer or the Establishment moderate, in their 2008 incarnations, is more electable. Nobody knows. What we might laughably call the evidence is all over the place; the question can be argued in either direction and we're all bullshitting."
truer words have never been spoken (spake?)
cheers

@Jonathan
[Read the article: McCain "glad" to have radical preacher's support]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yeah, I was wondering that too..where is our Greek Chorus when you need em? ;)
In all honesty though, I doubt it'll have too much of an effect on the "Catholic Vote"...we've been hearing how the Pope is the Antichrist since Martin Luther - by now it just slides off our shoulders (Obama styles :)
cheers!

@riconap103
[Read the article: The haunting of the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wow dude, just wow.
I mean, I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy...but sheesh, that's some Grade A Tinfoil Hattery you got going on there.
Obama is going to lose this time so he can win the next one? Wow. Just wow.

@deloresflower
[Read the article: The haunting of the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I'll tell you this though, if Clinton had been using her fighting wits to combat George W. Bush over the past eight years the way she had gone after Obama in this primary, you can bet your bottom dollar that my vote (and millions of others) would be firmly in her camp at this very moment...."
Hear Hear!!!

Hagee v. Wright
[Read the article: McCain "glad" to have radical preacher's support]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Know what's kinda depressing? That Hagee's Greatest Hits will NEVER get the kind of play or invoke the visceral reaction that Wright did.
and we all know the reason why.
perhaps we should update the old "never get caught with a dead girl or a live boy" quip into "if you're gonna have a crazy pastor, you better make sure he's white!"

Gas Question
[Read the article: Clinton's surprising appearance on "Countdown"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just a question about gas prices in the U.S. Are they taxed at all? I know in Canada they're taxed heavily, something like 37% of the price you pay at the pump is taxes.
Is there something similar in the US, or is it all profit for the oil companies?

@bignose
[Read the article: Clinton's surprising appearance on "Countdown"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]thanks for the reponse. I always suspected that taxation on gas was pret-ty low stateside...I agree, taxing the hell out of gas is a good thing (well I think it is, but then I don't have a car so I guess I can't really talk :)
cheers!

@HP
[Read the article: The epic battle for Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hey man,
you totally stole my point! I was just about to post the exact same thing re: African Americans & losing the south!
btw - I've enjoyed your contributions here today, they're a breath of sanity to be sure.
p.s. re: Wes - you have to read between the lines of his posts, he's basically saying "there's always next year!"...he knows she's toast, so does everybody else...he's the only one *almost* admitting it :)
cheers!

@show me
[Read the article: Bill Clinton and the "race card"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Most recently, he used another form of nonverbal sign lanuage to get his message across, again thinking the non hip would never get it."
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Man, I thought Jon Stewart was making that shit up! You mean the morons over at Fox News ACTUALLY are saying that scratching your face is really flipping her off? REALLY??
That's effing BRILLIANT!
Man, you guys are starting to remind me of an old Seinfeld rerun!
thanks for the laugh man! that made my day!
-
YESS!!!
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Man, last night I just about ran through even human emotion possible watching my beloved Habs almost choke away to the hated Bruins. Had they lost I NEVER would've lived that down.
No really, I had 9 missed calls and 13 emails taunting me after Saturday night's debacle. And not from only Bruins fans, mostly from Leafs fans who just love piling it on :)
Honestly though, how great is Carey Price? I'm starting the believe all the hype about that kid. Did you see the interview after the game? He JUST finished up a shutout in his first NHL Playoff Game Seven and he didn't even crack a smile! Talk about calm under pressure!
wtf??
In Bob We Trust!
Habs 08!

@episcomom
[Read the article: Bill Clinton and the "race card"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]oh..THAT was the "coded" message? Brushing the dirt off his shoulders?
man...that's pret-ty tenuous...especially seeing as how that album is five years old, I fail to see the "hip" factor in it :D
no really? Is THAT the "coded" message? I don't see how that's a big deal at all...am I missing something here? Can some Clinton supporter illuminate me as to why this is venal, awful racialist behaviour?
