[Read the article: The numbers crunch Hillary in Texas]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well since you didn't reply to the excerpt I posted, and you seem to be saying the same thing over and over again...let me re-post this very simple explanation of why we sit in the position we do:
"Obama has become the clear standardbearer for change in the Democratic race and in the country overall. And when the mood for change in the country is that strong, and you represent change, and you are running for the nomination of the opposition party — well, your positioning is pretty good."
you can talk about "vague" all you want, but the simplest explanation is that people LIKE change. It's the oldest and truest maxim in politics. Maybe you think he doesn't really offer change, and you're totally welcome to that opinion. The fact remains is that Clinton tragically miscalculated the desire for change (it seems she was expecting "vengeance" to be the dominant theme)...she left the floor wide open for someone else to be that agent of change. That is all, it's not sexism, not republican fifth columns, not Rovian Trickery, just that people LIKE change...and Obama claimed that position for himself.
cheers

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton makes her stand in Ohio]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The real issue with the NAFTA story is that you have a Conservative right wing douchebag Prime Minister (Stephen Harper) who has repeatedly tried cozying up to the neocons purposefully leaking this non-story (and distorting it to boot - he initially made it seem that he met with THE Ambassador to the US in DC, not the guy in Chicago) to one of the most Right Wing television stations in Canada (CTV)in an effort to affect the American Democratic process.
I'm a Canadian, and it boils my blood. Americans should be LIVID that the Canadian PM has acted in such an irresponsible fashion. The content of the "meeting" was negligible, and falls well within the context of normal diplomatic conversations...simple assurances that it won't be an ugly fight, but normal renogotiations. This notion that the aide called it "campaign rhetoric" is a distortion brought to you by Douchbag Harper.
Focus your anger people...it should be at a neo-con asshat, not an aide to the Obama campaign.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]You wrote:
"He plans to lie to the people of Ohio, he warns the Canadian Embassy that he is going to lie, so they don't take him seriously. He lies. The Canadian media blows his cover.."
Nope.
It was the petty (Neo) Conservative douchebag Prime Minister who took the information about the conversation, distorted it and leaked it to the most Right Wing friendly television station in Canada (CTV). I know it doesn't mean anything to you...but there's a reason why this story wasn't leaked to CBC.
Focus your anger at Stephen Harper, douchebag extraordinaire for distorting and leaking non-events in an attempt to alter the outcome of your nomination...

[Read more letters about this article: Here]you wrote:
" We don't need platitudes. We need solutions. What solutions will Obama bring?"
umm...he's going to bring the exact same solutions that Hillary would. Have you even bothered to read their policy positions? Dude, they're almost identical.
It's not 1984 kiddo, it's called politics...these elections tend to revolve around themes (rightly or wrongly), and so far Obama has picked the winning theme.
That is all. There's no kool-aid, no sexism, no Rovian Trickery, just the right theme. Deep down, we're not that complex (I should say the majority of voters aren't complex...the people here are far more politically engaged than the majority...one of the major reasons I spend so much time here I guess ;)
(it's annoying when people don't think like you isn't it? Don't worry, I feel your pain. My horse in the next Canadian election is a brilliant professorial type who writes more passionately and eloquently on Federalism than anyone I've ever come across. Unfortunately he's a bit of a dweeb and speaks nearly incomprehensible Franglais...ergo he's sunk. I'm still gonna vote for him though, and defend him up to and after the election...so I see where you're coming from.)

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just so I'm clear, what exactly was it about being Governor of Arkansas that prepared Bill to be President?
do you think that maybe, just maybe, nobody can truly be prepared for a Presidency?
maybe??

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ignore the troll (he certainly seems to have the same way with words that our favourite anonymous used to have doesn't he?)
Your post was inspiring. I think we should all print it off and keep it handy beside our computer. If only as a reminder to keep things civil and clean.
Great Work!

[Read the article: Dean says he's concerned about a prolonged race]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Can you refresh my memory, when exactly has the Obama Campaign been sexist? I'm not being sarcastic, maybe you do have examples, I dunno...but I can't remember any.
Now if you want to say Russert is a sexist pig - go ahead. But he's not the one running for president.
and on a general note - what happened to that Pro-Obama press? Last night on CNN it was 4 straight hours of NAFTA/Rezko ad nauseum. Think maybe, just maybe, the press isn't anti-hillary, but just wants ratings? Hmm??

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Alex you dirty, rotten sexist!!! The temerity of you, going and making a well placed joke like that! Well now I KNOW you hate Hillary...you've confirmed that SEXISM is stronger in America than "racism"! I mean really, the nerve of some people!
;)

[Read more letters about this article: Here]ah, well then I guess it wasn't quite as funny as I thought then...here I was thinking you were gently poking fun at the touchiness over sexism (and I guess by extension racism)in this race, but you're right, that joke was a little lame ;)
(I just realized that you probably thought I was laughing b/c I agree with the sentiment..that hillary is a ____. I don't actually, I thought you were being a little subversive, hence my amusement)
cheers!
