As a Yoga teacher, I think I get the "idea" behind partner yoga. That is, can you take this sense of focus and clarity from your individual yoga practice into interactions with others. That makes sense to me. That being said however, I will never offer partner yoga to my students. I am aware of the the fact that they pay for my class because they are seeking an opportunity for a quiet, meditative practice. This is "sacred" to them. To throw in a mini-"cocktail party" in the midst of a yoga class is an intrusion, as I see it.

Also, asking a Indian Yogi guru about partner yoga is kind of beside the point, since most of American yoga is so un-Indian anyway (no matter how much your teacher tries to infuse it with chanting and dedications to Ganesh).

  • really, really, really bad.

stephanopolous asked questions that are on voters minds. NOW, they are NOT the questions that are on MY mind, or any of my friends minds, but they are what vast swaths of america are hearing about, reading about. it was obama's chance to shine in the face of such ridiculousness, put it soundly to rest. he didn't. he looked weak, and its a shame. obama keeps saying that he has faith in the american people, that they are "too smart for this kind of thing." unfortunately, he has underestimated us.
