for sure
Hoot, your rants are too hard to read. You should change your style or just give up. no one will care which you choose.
he'd be as "good-to-go" as Collin Powell except for that "preacher" thing and that un-proud "wife" thing and that in-experienced "Chicago political machine" thing
it's not just his race (after all, his mother is white) it's what he's done (not much) and what he's surrounded himself with (even worse than not much). those things are too big to overcome.
on his current path he does not have a chance. none.
One way out that I see would be for him to come out and expose just who it is that has put him in this position. Because there's No Way he's a self-made presidential candidate, so He needs to 'fess up... "come clean" with the voters. Voters love that kind of stuff.
even some of the white racists (I have no idea how the black racists will take to it though)
wi fi is not a path to regaining status. Re-establishing high standards in customer service, accomodation and respect - that would regain carriers the status they tossed aside.
but then... I dont see the carriers actually clamoring to regain their past levels of status. I see them over-booking flights, passing out difficult to use "frequent flier miles" and cramming passengers into ill-fitted seats... and all that is before the nickel and dime-ing set ins.
Hard to imagine a Republican winning after the past 8 years, but even I won't vote for Obama. My pipe dream is that somehow Hillary can pull off taking the nomination after all.
Only then will I vote democrat. If Obama runs I will vote for McCain (while holding my nose)
you must really be stretching for something to write aobut
squick? my screen name is Squick?
tha's all
and I could not find one
fess up Mark Benjamin... tell us all the organizations you've worked for and are working for.
Your story sounds just as much like sour grapes that you dont have a diverse source of incomes and it does an expose of some one else's.
a few more letters about that article
Did I miss the birth of this new word? Squicked? ?? ???
my take is that Amanda took her eye off of her own goal (aiding the Edwards campaign) and while thus distracted allowed herself to become preoccupied with hurtful trivia with which she then became obsessed. It's a shame really. Shame on the bullies and shame on amanda for letting hersef become so distracted.
My suggested remedy? Shake it out of her hair and go back to the Edwards campaign if she still feels like working with them. And next time employ a stronger filter - don't fall victim to every sling and arrow - there will be too many of them. Does it mean becoming a hardened (meaning out-of-touch) "insider"? no. but it means employing some of their survival skills to your (her) advantage.
Amanda... Keep your eye on your goal. Stop listening to the crowd watching the game.
I didn't find it dorky at all. I liked it all. and you're right, this couple looks like a lot of fun.
why drag this junk to your space and share it with us ??? why? WHY??? just because you can? <---that's the only reason I can think of, and it's not good enough. sharing dreck is no better than dreck.
this letter has just as much likelihood of being real as it does being fake. but from what I've seen of marriages over the years, I'd lean more on the side of it being a real letter. and good advice for that letter writer. my parents spent 33 miserable years together. when they split up, I got the dog, and they got happy for the first time since I knew them.
misery is real, people. it's all over out there. just hope it doesn't come to live with you.
any article about Betty Page is sorely lacking unless laden with lots of pictures. she was after all a pictoral phenom and the breadth of the body of the work needs to be experienced in order to understand her (claims for her) inspirations
in this case it truely is proven that a picture is worth thousands of words
Jong says "my focus right now would be on how parents are penalized for having children"...
I have children. I feel very lucky. I've never felt even the tiniest bit penalized.
"the Duke ideal: rich, white, athletic, good-looking, prep-school-educated guys "
reminds me of those that are born on third base and think they've hit a home run.
The man is a bore. Full blown bore. McCain spoke at my daughter's graduation a couple of years ago. He gave a very long and boring plug for his book. Worst speech I've EVER heard anyone give.
And what makes him a hero? He survived POW camp because his father's position got him special treatment. I'm not saying he should not be acknowledged for surviving, but to be called a HERO? Max Cleland is a hero. Not for what he suffered in the war, but for what he accomplished after that war.
I finally learned WHY people act... something I've pondered for years without ever getting close to an answer. But here, Mr Birkenhead gives me one answer:
"I know that may be hard to believe, but when you do it semi-right, acting is actually about getting away from your ego. It's like riding a rocket away from your ego and becoming weightless. And the two things you're incapable of when you're floating up there are thinking and caring what other people think."
ps: EDL - you were right and I was wrong.
I couldn't even bring myself to read this story... the headline and subhead told me WAY more than I wanted to know about this guy.
boo hoo boo hoo... I'm not a star... boo hoo
(puke)
is it just us or is the whole world stupid?
