Passing the buck

First of all, forgive my flippancy, but someone named Anne-Marie Slaughter is a war supporter? I honestly thought that was a sarcastic nickname you made up, Glenn. That name sounds like some super-villianess who should be plotting against GI Joe (and in some way, she is). Ok with that out of the way...

This is merely "passing the buck." People like Anne-Marie Slaughter (giggle) don't want to assign blame now, but the finger pointing will come out if and when a democrat gets into the presidency and starts the withdrawl process. They're trying to wait it out so they can then accuse the democrats of "cutting and running" and gosh darn it, their stupid idiotic "stay the course" plan would have worked if only those "liberals" had done what they said and stuck with the same failing foreign policies that has dragged us down for years (Just recycle the arguments used after Vietnam.) Slaughter's arguments about this, like the Bush administration is just about saving face. THAT'S why these people want us to stay in Iraq so badly, not crap about "freedom" or "democracy." If we get enough "progress" (but not of course for the Iraqis) then they feel like they can deflect blame and justify themselves. It's sad.

As for Anne-Marie's "who's to blame" argument, obviously she never paid attention to that old high school history axiom: "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Duh!

Guess who missed the boat?

Before anyone claims that I'm hijacking this thread, consider this point. The article's "reality" shows are actually about dodging reality.

Um...that's kind of the point of the article, dude.

Oh, whaterver

Dumb crap like this can't even offend me as a Black man, it's so assinine. Besides who even cares how "instapundit" feels about Black people, as if every brotha and sista was on pins and needles eagerly waiting Renyolds' reflection of them ("He hates us? Oh no, I'm getting the vapors!") More than likely what "Instapundit's screed REALLY means is that he's fucking young Black boys and now feels guilty about it. That's usually what happens in situations like this.

This made me laugh though:

...unanimously hating the very country that has afforded the highest standard of living ever achieved by black people in human history.

Yeah how dare we?! I mean all those years of slavery and segregation were like Club Med! Why oh why can't we "coloreds" be lucky enough to go back to those halcyon days of "highest standard of living." And I'm sure Silenced will be by (if he hasn't already) to talk about the "luxury accomedations" that many Black men are subject to nowadays.

By the way isn't this man is TEACHER, isn't he?

Oh for God's sake, Klooster

First of all, Sharpton and Jackson don't proclaim to "speak for all of the Black community." The MSM proclaims that. Since Sharpton and Jackson get lots of money and media exposure from that view, they play along. Indeed the fact that we often get ONE view and voice on racial issues in the MSM regarding a group of people that number in the billions says it all. Not to mention that the last time I checked people like Sharpton and Jackson are INDIVIDUALS who can speak for themselves. They are not broken robots that "we" (as Black folk) are obligated to control nor out of control pets that "we" are suppose to use the choke chain on when they mess up on the carpet. If you're wondering why "we" don't keep tighter rein on certain "troublesome" Black figures, it could be because "we" naively keep hoping that dumb white people stop thinking that "we" are like the Borg collective. Sheesh!

The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

Um...Joan, honey? You might want to start reading your own website a little more. I mean you post this garbage at the SAME time that Glenn Greenwald just deconstructed and exposed this type of rhetoric for self-serving idiocy that it is, AND when War Room has devoted tons of post to detailing exactly how and why the "tough" questions that "most people" wanted answered were really shallow, petty fluff that failed to serve the interest of the American public. As Bart Simpsons would say, "The ironing is delicious."

I think SOMEONE should spend less time palling around with Matthews and Buchanan, and more time looking at the website she's suppose to be editor of. Please start curing yourself NOW before you fully succumb to "punditocracy" diesease.

Oh whatever, Joan

"He is, in fact, a stunning narcissist"

Um, so? We should care why?

"...and it's clear he's sabotaging Barack Obama."

Which is quite a feat considering that HE'S NOT ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL OR IS ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN TEAM. Why this guy must have magical powers (or the captive ear of a vacant, gossip-mongering press) to be able to "sabotage" a Obama.

Of course, Joan, I should point out that even if the good Rev IS a "stunning narcissist" then the obviously solution would be to IGNORE HIM AND STOP MAKING A BIG FREAKING DEAL ABOUT HIS WORDS. Sorry about the excessive use of caps, folks, butthis apparently needs to be spelled out to Joan and her cronies in the MSM as though they were particularly stubborn 5 year olds.

@mattozan

Actually Rockstar DID have a game kinda like that. It was called "State of Emergency" and it wasn't all that good. Ok granted you usually "protested" against corporations by smashing store windows with someone severed head but...
