BIG HINT

For those of you who want her to pick and move and just give hubby a pass, remember she says he's been like this since the beginning of the marriage, had the same attitude towards other jobs, and they have not been married long.

It's sounds like its his problem to me. She shouldn't trash her life for that.

I'll repeat what the others have said...

I find it sad.

Sad that some women have become as cynical, manipulative and as shallow as some kinds of men, that they feel its okay to pay money for sex. I mean, what kind of men like to fly off for sex with third world prostitutes? Why should women who do so be any less creepy?

It sounds very lonely and icky, as well. I don't really buy the argument that we should feel sorry for the women because their attractiveness is fading. If just getting laid was all they wanted, they could probably achieve that some other way. Going to prostitutes is not really about not having other options (plenty of ugly guys get laid without going to hookers, and some very attractive men solicit prostitutes...so do men with attractive partners--look at Hugh Grant). Obviously the "johns" (what would we call the female equivalent? a Jane?) like to pay, enjoy the role of weilding the power, of having control, of being the "employer" (I can't think of a better word right now). That makes them exploiters.

As a shelter worker in Sweden said,

"There are no happy hookers. Most of them have been abused from childhood and are dependent on drugs to dull the pain. They are abused in the course of their work. I wish they could all get out of it."

Wonder how much of this is true for guy hookers as well (not gay)? Sure they are full of bravado and really-it's-okay, but then so are female hookers. It's a sad deal all around.

relax, everybody

Anonymous is just Toni: feebly, flailingly, fatalistically, attempting to stick up for her own KOF so the thread looks like it contains somebody who likes this so-called "comic strip". But we know the truth.

We've got your number, Toni. You can come out now.

Aaaron Bonn...

I don't believe that happy hookers exist. I just don't, sorry, and don't ask me how I know.

Anonymous--it isn't ridiculously moralistic to possess some morals. Since when is a poor African a "higher value" partner? Give me a break.

It may be true that people very commonly use other people, but that doesn't make it all right.

This isn't "love", you idiot. It's using a person's body, having them on you and inside you, and then throwing them back into the grinding poverty from whence they came, and not just not giving a shit, but preferring it that way. Get it right.

Aaron...

If you "know" prostitutes and think they are happy, you can only be a john or punter. The girls get a lot of guys who "talk" to them and of course they don't tell them how they really feel. You know, the so-called "nice types" who like to feel large-hearted.

I know, too, johns who claim they "talk" to the girls, and they really seem convinced the girls are fine, or even that their purchase of their services is helping them and doing them a favor.

Just for a snippet: I remember a trip to South America in which a couple of very wealthy lawyer dudes were "slumming" in Caracas and Paramaribo, and they had a "whore budget" which they actually insisted was a wholesome contribution to the local economy. They slavered on about how hot the girls were, how their slumming experiences enriched their lives, and then, when their "whore budget" ran out, tried half-heartedly to get me into bed, even though neither was really at all attracted to me. Both were in "meaningful relationships" back home. I wish today I had had the guts to tell them they were effing assholes, instead of just ignoring them. They would have laughed at me, it wouldn't have done any good, but I'd feel better. You could even tell by their skin texture that these were people who had never worked, never would. Their idea of a good time was to be tourists of misery. Typical third-world punters.

I don't believe the female version would be any less repulsive than the male.

Sick, sick, sick. Even sicker to suggest that somebody who finds it sick is some kind of killjoy.

:Billions of prostitutes?

Really Aaron, Billions?

They make up 1/3 of the population of the planet?

Sure you got your numbers right?

But of course, according to your estimation virtually everyone is a prostitute. With such a broad definition as you have it just might be possible.

Japanese girls in sex work in Thailand?

Ummmmm......did it ever occur to you that they might be Thai?

Jeez.

Tuesday, November 27, 2007 03:09 PM

WTF?

What is it with all these so-called feminists who see nothing wrong with prostitution?

Really, I'm curious. Or it just okay when men do it?

Either way its a hypocritcal stance. Anybody who thinks there's "nothing wrong" with having to sell your body needs to spend a week out on the streets of oh, let's say, Calgary Canada, selling it. In a short skirt. In winter. Trying to get truckers to pick you up for $30.

If it's fine then y'all will have no objections, right? Fun way to spend a week, a few years, a lifetime....?

Or sell it in a warmer clime if you prefer. Have a game plan ready for the guys who will invent a reason to beat the **it out of you, like, you know, when you ask them to wear a condom.

I could go on and on but do I really need to?
