War

Is this not another Cheney-Bush "Bring It On" moment. These guys play cowboy while our soldiers die. I honestly think these jerks just declared war on the good citizens of our nation who oppose torture, senseless war, and deceit. It's time for true patriots to take on these jerks and restore the good and genuine values of our nation.

Abdication Day

So March 25 will henceforth be known as Presidential Abdication Day based on President Clueless'Executive Order 13292 that invested Vice President Birdshot with all presidential powers. Shouldn't we all be really, really angry about this subversion of our Constitution-- or has the public simply been desensitized by Bush and company's repeated rape of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Come on Congress,do what a responsible Congress is supposed to do.....Impeachment Now...

No more Hope

Having watched Bob Hope, Johnny Carson, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, and a couple others, I thought Jon Stewart was excellent. I’ve enjoyed some of the mania and zaniness of the past but this was the first year I did not fall asleep or wander out of the room. Stewart is far more than a monologist or kibbitzer. His controlled manner, sharp wit and the enhancing bits (fake attack ads, etc) he brought to the “show” made it for once really watchable and well-organized. You and the other reviewers who failed to appreciate Jon Stewart’s superb performance should be forced to watch 90 hrs of Bob Hope reruns.

For Whom The Bells Troll

The wildest dreams of Nixon and Orwell are realized. For all those years our ardent conservatives thought it would come from the left. And now they look over their shoulders and see it standing right behind them!

force feed

Someone should force feed this article (and book) to the Democratic leadership so the wimps can stand up or step aside....

Webb Flags Allen

Check out Webb's response to Allen's flag waving attack. I've had my reservations about Webb's credentials as a Democrat. But its nice to know that if he's now a Democrat, he intends to be one with "gumption". Hopefully the Democratic Party can find and field other candidates with the will to fight. Just rolling over and playing nice has not worked very well. We need folks with the guts and ability to stand up for true American values- like those stated in the Bill of Rights.

Ted and Art

"On Friday, White House spokesman Tony Fratto sought to downplay Haggard's influence within the administration, saying he was only an occasional participant in weekly conference calls between West Wing staff and leading evangelicals."

In Christian tradition is this not known as “The Peter Principle”?

Too bad Pastor Ted and all the folks who thought he was so wonderful and blessed until this week (despite his avarice, power hunger and hatemongering) can’t have more sympathy for the plight of those like Pastor Ted who were genetically or chemically preordained to have different sexual affinities than most of us. Art from Kansas City and Ted from Colorado shouldn’t be all that different- if you like one you should be able to like the other or at least some fusion of the two- a fusion that might hopefully be a better person, less likely to wage holy war for the persecution of others.

no mo macacca

Jefferson and Madison are gasping an Amen of relief. As a native Virginian and one whose British Isle ancestors first came to Virginia in the 1600s, I hope this fake Virginian will take his boots, snuff, noose and insufferable attitude back to some California dude ranch where he might complete his metamorphosis into a cowboy. Or maybe he can help out on the non-ranch ranch in Crawford.

Comey: Late Bloomer as a Profile of Courage

James Comey may be a bright man of great principle. He may even be a great patriot. But most of all he is a collaborating coward because of his post March 2004 participation in or toleration of stuff to which he made a spirited but unsustained objection in March 2004. But even cowards of great principle can partially redeem their reputations and earn our respect if they ultimately come forth.

Vacation with Lindsay in July

Senator- will you take your family as well? And please, don't expect or accept a taxpayer financed safety escort. And will you and the family also take in the old historic sights in Baghdad? What about Ninevah? Maybe you can see the old Jonah & the Whale exhibit- certainly a point of interest for some of us who value the ancient texts. Get serious, Senator. Do you really expect any non-fool to take you seriously?
