  • Sane vs. Insane

[Read the article: Wagging the "Big Dog"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Even if Clinton's policy was completely misguided, why should any sane voter accept the notion that current policy problems are his fault?"

I submit that nearly half of the people who vote are obviously not sane, or we never would have been saddled with these morons in the first place.

  • Sullivan

    [Read the article: Sullivan's travels]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sullivan is of age to join the military. Until he picks up a gun and heads to the steeets of Baghdad, to see his war through, nothing he can say or do will absolve him of the blood on his hands. It's so easy, isn't it, Andrew, to sit in your air conditioned office on your fat backside and write while other people die for what you say you believe in. You helped create this debacle, which will end up as the worst foreign policy blunder in our nations's history, by far eclipsing Vietnam, if it hasn't reched that point already. You are a despicable, disgusting character. Your hypocrisy sickens me.

  • The Old Nursery Rhyme

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Hickory Dickory Dock, when you have the ball and the lead in the 4th quarter RUN OUT THE CLOCK. I have to disagree with King on this one, not only should Arizona have been running the ball up the middle on first down, they should have been doing it on second and third down as well, and the game would have been over. Instead, Green and his staff inexplicably call pass play after pass play in the fourth quarter, thus giving Chicago plenty of time to get back in the game. I guess they never payed attention when Mom was reading them Mother Goose...

  • Lamont blew it

[Read the article: Lieberman's Republican problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He had about a 48 hour window of opportunity to force Lieberman out of the race after he won the primary, and he went on vacation. Instead of saying that he felt it was Lieberman's decision to make whether or not run as an independent, he should have forcefully stood up for the Democrats that voted for him and demanded Lieberman accept the judgement of the voters. He did not, and now, barring a political miracle (maybe Schlesinger will pull enough republicans but I doubt it) he is going to lose.

  • Catch 22

[Read the article: Can Frodo save Iraq?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I was going to nominate Major Major as Bush, but goodape beat me to it. Colonel Cargill, I think, is too competent and a self made man besides. IRAQ=FUBAR

  • The iPod knows

[Read the article: iPod: I love you, you're perfect, now change]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We have a saying in my family - the iPod knows. Mine is engraved on the back with the words: Rock and Roll 1967-1981. And that's exactly what it plays, over and over and over again. Hmmm...maybe it deosn't really know anything...

  • Get out now

[Read the article: In Iraq, are there any good options left?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    It will end badly.

  • Fight fire with fire

[Read the article: Replaying GOP racism]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The point of the election is to win. The Democrats, instead of complaining about racism, should get out an ad that morphs Corker into a KKK grand wizard (surely we can find some thin thread to hang that on him, same with George Allen). Then, when the rightwing goes batshit, take the exact same tactic, blame it on an indepenedent group and pull it off the air, while offering a non-apology that speaks to the base in code. The MSM and the republicans will bitch about it, but since they are guilty of the same and worse, most people will ignore them.

Same goes for bush. Let's get an ad up that morphs him into, say, a Saudi prince (Bandar comes to mind) and then into an Exxon Mobil sign.

  • public confidence

[Read the article: Money trails lead to Bush judges]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Some ethics experts and Bush-appointed judges say that political giving is inappropriate for those seeking judicial office -- it can appear unethical, they say, and could jeopardize the public's confidence in the impartiality of the nation's courts."

Sorry, guys, there's nothing left to "jeopardize." Your dirty little secret is out in the open. To say the public has "no confidence" that the nation's courts are impartial, is putting it mildly. In fact, everyone I know has "contempt" for the system as it is presently constitituted. We can see that those who can afford good lawyers or those who are politically connected get preferential treatement. Bush v. Gore set the bar, and it will take a generation before that sorry yellow stain is wiped from the judiciary's reputation. Probably even longer, because the cleanup has yet to begin, and until it does, the fish continues to rot from the head.

  • Ben Franklin

[Read the article: The president, the preacher and the prostitute]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I believe, said, "The louder they proclaimed their innocence, the faster we hid our spoons." And he was a pretty smart guy.

  • over/under

[Read the article: Evangelical leader reportedly admits to some of prostitute's allegations]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'll take the over, it'll be Monday IMO.

  • Communnity College...

[Read the article: Everything sucks. Plus I'm a legal secretary!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...is the greatest career thing that ever happened to me. I transferred out to a high end 4 year university and got my BA, which never would have happened without community college. It's definitely the way to go. It'll be damn hard at first, I went in at the age of 23 and it felt like I had been sent back to high school, or worse because at the time the college I went to was using an old elementary school building (complete with the junior sized restrooms), but I got through it (even though it took 6 years). Also, as to the famous quote from The Graduate, here it is: Reality TV. Good luck!

  • Gay Christians

[Read the article: Equality before God]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is like the greatest thng ever. It's the beginning of the end of the reagan revolution...In the immortal words of Homer Simpson, THANK YOU JEBUS!

  • Unfair

[Read the article: "This gay stuff has gotta stop"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Gay people should be allowed to marry. They should have to suffer just like the rest of us.

  • Impeach

    [Read the article: Rumsfeld resigns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Bush has clearly gone over the edge. And for the whitehouse "press corps" to stay around for one minute longer after he admitted he had "misled" (where I come from we call that a "lie") them, just goes to show what a bunch of weenies they are. At this point, we might as well make Cheney the president, since he already is, before bush goes Doctor Strangelove on our ass...

  • The end of the line

[Read the article: Bush: I lied. Wait, no I didn't!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is it me, or does it seem bush is having a nervous breakdown? I have a feeling we are going to see an impeachment next year...
