I'd vote for Kucinich

But - the timing and the silliness of the primaries make it irrelevant in my state.

But hey, assholes, continue to bang your fat heads on the walls. It appears to be working well so far. In fact your comment to me just buttresses the point I made. You see world in completely childish ways. All your friends are superheroes and anyone who disagrees with you is Satan on meth, eating babies and raping puppy dogs.

that's kind of the strangeness of NYC politics

John Lindsay ran as a Republican AND a Liberal, his first time. Koch ran on the Dem and GOP ticket at the same as well, his second time. He was a liberal in name only, basically a moderate Republican, Rudy WAS a Republican. Bloomberg simply switched parties before the election.

The only two mayors who were Dem machine loyalists were Abe Beame and Dave Dinkins, the #1 and #2 worst mayors NYC had since maybe the 19th Century.

Another one Glenn basically pulled out of his ass for a high post count

No one, NO ONE, Glenn has been running around pronouncing the Evil Right Wing Jew Party candidacy of Michael Bloomberg besides you Glenn. I'm not sure any of your columns are honest any more. It used to be you just spent your days hurling shit back at other bloggers who said mean things about you. Which is harmless enough, but now it looks like you're just making up revisionist future history for laughs to see who believes it. If Bloomberg the Dark-ish Prince claimed he had no interest in running on the mainline parties more than 5 months ago, he's not going to mount a windmill tilting waste of time on a third party. Any person who doesn't wear a bike helmet in the bathtub knows that. 3rd parties are for rich NUTCASES.

Though it would be fun to watch, just to see the astonished snarling looks on the faces of the progressive liberals who's exploding heads will be audible from here. I picture Gordon Wagner committing suicide.

I wonder who's out of step on this

I mean while it's unusual for any American President since, I dunno, 1840 to say they're a Christian first and a President second, I think your assumption that all Presidents, or at least the good ones are hidebound militant atheists violently opposed to all faith, is maybe a little over the top. I see no evidence at all to suggest that Carter, LBJ, Kennedy, Truman, FDR cynically wore the trappings of religion to pull one over on us rubes. They may or may not have gone to church semi-regularly and may have even had some fairly expansive almost heretical views of God, Man, the Church and faith, but I'm skeptical they were secret crypto-atheists. Maybe I'm wrong on that though maybe they really were all lying to everyone consistently for decades.

the liberal blogs are sort of neutral do you know why

Because of the difference between the seriously electable and the unelectable there's not a great deal of difference among each grouping. It's like looking at hot twin sisters and declaring one of them hot. It just makes you look like an ass.

I was trying to be polite

In lieu of "fucking retard bongwater drinking assholes" sorry I'll try to crisp it up better next time.

Substance is overrated.

Any candidate with specific micro-plans on how to address every issue will sound like and be as effective as Jimmy Carter. A President, is a leader. They steer the ship of state generally, not ply a big wrench on the turbines, change the light bulbs and such.

It would be illegal for President Bloomberg to visit most of our Mid East allied states

I guess he could convert to Islam but it would take a special act or special permission in most of those nations, like the KSA for a Jew, even a nominal one like Bloomberg to set foot in those countries.

I don't have an opinion

All I have the experience that tells me that enabling junkies is probably a waste of time. Rehab is a waste of time 90% of the time too. All junkies lie all the time. About everything. Rehab is a life long long haul project. And you could go years w/o seeing any progress.

On the other hand, almost all drug busts are tainted or have errors in one way or another. The very fact that the cops couldn't reliably tell you what she was actually in possession of is a good indication that Officer Gomer P. Dipshit would probably charge someone with 1 joint in a baggie with 'intent to sell'. None the less not only rehab - which will, 90% of the time need to be repeated over and over and over, but you also have to pay for a lawyer, bail and all the fines and consequences of conviction too.

You should feel fortunate - where I live, possession of one illegal prescription tablet is a felony that could easily result in $10,000 bail alone (+17.5% bonding + 2% credit card surcharge), plus $5,000 in legal fees BEFORE you decide if you want to fight it in superior court where the costs climb to $30,000 or more.

I wake up every day

Wanting to get in the car and drive till the gas runs out, as I watch the house burn to the ground in the rearview mirror.

We need to test this legal theory directly

Torture everyone for everything for 2 years and let's see what emerges. And while we're at it make all A felonies capital crimes. And then we can see what is a deterrent for what and how well the resulting law and order society operates. Otherwise we're just talking out our butts.

jasonroiz

Episcopalians are about 1.5% of US population and they've elected more than 9 Presidents. I'm surprised Salon hasn't picked up on that dark Trilateral Zionist Freemason conspiracy. 8>)

So I picked up "Cleveland" magazine

I was a little amused at the level of anti Dennis ambivalence from his own home town. Dennis left a legacy of self promotion, vindictive firings and pet projects that would make Chicago's Richard Daley proud. But I still support him.

Better yet

Why do we give a crap what a few thousand corn farmers think. The last time I checked their votes were as worthless as mine. What would the professional morons be saying if the Caucus were in Chicago or Baton Rouge or Oakland?
