  • Let's Assume Clinton's Health Care Plan is Better

[Read the article: Hillary Clinton's Texas-size moment ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am not sure which is better but let's assume so, since she spent all those months as First Lady putting one together.

Why does she need to be President to implement it? Has it been advanced while she was a Senator? Wouldn't she need a super majority in Congress?

Who are her supporters with this plan, and who are her detractors in both Congress and the Senate?

We discuss this plan like it comeone can wave a magic wand and "Poof" we have universal health care.

Maybe we can discuss what other players we need to get a universal health care plan through, no matter who the President is, both in the Private and Public arenas?

Does Hillary Clinton have a leg up on those factors? Because right now, either one are just Powerpoint presentations (without the graphs).

Barack Obama: Analyzing his stump speeches

Yes they are filled with platitudes, but they discuss policy as much as his opponents' speeches do

  • Regarding the Hillary Speech

To John Anderson - I did not watch that before thanks for posting it.

    ------------------------

Wow, "aid and comfort", "Karl Rove", "enough with the speeches and the rallies"..."meet me in Ohio..." and finally, shame shame shame...

Yeah, enough with those effective speeches and rallies, come onto my turf because I don't have any turf of my own...

I wouldn't blame Obama for cancelling the next debate. His wins came on his own, he owes Clinton nothing and it could turn into a very uncomfortable spectacle. It's not like she is some elder stateswoman of the Democratic Party, she is Bill Clinton's Wife.

That is the woman whose campaign claims, is all battled tested and vetted, and the Right Wing Machine is just All Tuckered Out by Ms. Clinton, Plum Exhuasted, and can't Possibly come up with any more mud to throw at her, the mud holes are empty. They are now ready to accept her into the Fraternity of Republican Brothers due to the sheer respect they hold for Ms. Clinton as she never gives up, never surrenders.

It's Fellow DEMOCRATS we need to watch out for!

You would think this is Ms. Teflon, the woman nothing stuck to.

    It's almost painful to watch.

You have a lot in common with "factcheck", who posted that only one member of Congress voted against the war resolution.

You "factcheckers" have a lot of problems checking facts.

It's all about the Illuminati donchaknow!

  • Maybe the Clinton Campaign Just Doesn't Know?

Maybe they can't deny it because they don't really know who is doing what in that campaign.

  • Of course she shouldn't drop

unless she loses TX and OH.

  • Bravo

This is the story of much of the country but especially the Midwest.

The culture is based on making things and trades and agriculture. It's not based on figuring out how to crack open a company and get the money out. It's not based on short term business plans. It's not based on business school logic that reduces "human" to "resources" like depreciable items.

What we do and make is no longer of value in our disposable "global" society.

Globalization has devalued who we are.

What do we tell our daughters?

I tell my daughter I decided Barack Obama was a better candidate for reasons A, B and C.

I also explained that Hillary Clinton had a harder time because of reasons A, B and C.

She is strong on her own and doesn't seem to need Hillary Clinton as a symbol. In fact, she is much more concerned with who is going to deal with Global Warming before we melt the planet.

I am proud of her practicality.

I tell my daughter that we are the generations that are changing the entire gender dynamic and be proud and rise above. She will need to walk through the world on her own. What she faces is her own life. I can't change those things for her.

What I also can't change is HRC's negative media coverage which seems so negative when compared to the positive coverage given to Obama (especially when her campaign and supporters jump at every media slight). I agree the debate moderators are horrible. But as the front runner for 2 years, the ball was in her own court to rise above.

She never rose above her negatives. Do negatives include sexism? Certainly. But is it the major component? No, that was the Clinton baggage (and let's face it, if she was never First Lady she would not be the candidate right now so being Mrs. Clinton is a double-edged sword), coupled with a bad campaign strategy, a talking point strategy that focused on health care when the economy and the war are the #1 and #2 issues in the country, a speaking style that itself is a turnoff (there are plenty of great women speakers. Hillary Clinton is adequate but not great.) And, the great misfortune of being compared with someone who is just flatout charismatic. That Mr. Charisma happens to be a man, does not mean Hillary Clinton is a victim of sexism. It just means she got dusted.

She was the presumed nominee for 2 years she had plenty of time to overcome her negatives. I just don't think the campaign understood how many where there.

By the way, Hillary Clinton shouldn't drop out. She lined up supporters for the past several years and was the Presumed Frontrunner for 2 years, so she owes it to her supporters to fight until it is mathematically impossible for her to win.
